Measurements

Difference is motor. Fes doesn't have one sometimes. It's early but it looks like Bismack's motor is something to drool over.
But I like Fes. I love his size and he's funny. I'm running out of patience with him but I still think him on the floor is a good thing overall. I'd love him back for the right price.

The thing is you rarely see him bashed here for his defense. His fouling rate is concerning sometimes. But other than that the very same people who want to get rid of Fes because he is zero on offense and sub-mediocre FT shooting are all over the forum vouching for drafting Biyombo in lottery who is much worse than Fes in this component. I simply don't get that.
You don't draft Fes' replacement with 12th pick.

Fes doesn't play because he doesn't take conditioning or the opportunity he's been given seriously. Comparing it to a guy reported to be a work-horse makes less than no sense.

I'm not going to argue with that.
But does being a work-horse nobody really justify 12th pick? Really?

Except this work horse actually is going to be able to rebound and block shots. Fes tries, and does make some impact, but just doesn't have the hops, instincts, and more importantly the desire to be good at it. What is Fesenko's career high in blocks? 3?

Thabeet also had been blocking lots of shots until getting into the NBA

One that's also a freakish physical specimen and also intelligent in a crap draft? Absolutely. If the Jazz were left at 7 and Irving, Williams, Knight, and Kanter were off the board, he'd be the next guy I'd want. And it wouldn't be close.

Thabeet isn't the smartest guy, and he's not that athletic either. High-center of gravity, kind of clumsy. Also came into Uconn as a supposed lazy player that complained during practice. And for what it's worth, I was never high on him.

zbone, you're not wrong for doubting Biyombo. The guy is risky. But besides his triple double in the NHS his demeanor was really impressive. His motor sets him apart. He's a project but if someone can help him along he could be a stud.

What makes you think he is intelligent?

Dude, Fes didn't put up numbers as good as Biyombo before coming to the NBA while playing in an inferior league. How could anyone come to the conclusion that Fes was anywhere near the prospect that Biyombo is?

What kind of stud?
I'm not buying that Ben Wallace type stud crap.
