Nope, it's below average in the NBA where 35.8% was average last year so I feel confident in saying it's below average in college as well.

I can't find stats on that.

But the talent pool in college is much much lower and much much larger as well...

And yet against "lower" "talent," from a three point line that is considerably closer than the NBA, he still only shot 35.4% last year and 25% the year before that. And now this preseason he's at 28.6%. But yes, he's a great perimeter shooter. His great form proves that.

Let's be objective for once. I'm as hopeful as the next guy but he's never shown he consistently hit the 3.

Why are lower and talent in quotes? Do you disagree that college players are less talented than pros? My point is that I bet the average 3pt shooter in college has a lower % than the average 3pt shooter in the NBA. I could be wrong, but its not something I would feel comfortable assuming as you are.

Because you used those words. Perhaps you are right. But that only hurts your case. You are essentially saying that Mitchell was only capable of hitting 35% and 25% respectively in his two college seasons against inferior talent. And with a much shorter three-point line I might add as well.

I think we should throw his freshman shooting % out the window. He was a multi sport athlete in high school. Dennis Lindsey has said his improvement trajectory is a little different than the typical player because of this.

Also, Pitino (this may invalidate everything I'm saying rn) told one of the ringer guys Donovan is the best shooter he's ever coached.

DM is much more dynamic... that is his floor imo. I can't remember AB creating a ton of his own shots and DM seems to be able to do it whenever... as a rookie.
