I suspect your comment is tongue in cheek, but it kind of struck a cord. I do okay for myself, and I have a job that I enjoy and that pays well. However, I have so many ideas that I would love to pursue. I am an engineer (professionally and naturally), and I have, across the years, designed many technical solutions with obvious market demand. I will draw, calculate, and even build functional prototypes on occasion. But I never go further than that. It's always something "i'll do later". But later never comes. I always thought of it as laziness, but you're right, it's just cowardliness. I am comfortable, and I'm afraid to take a chance and ruin what I have. :/

Pretty weird how several of you are stuck on some notion of humor. I'm not trying to be funny and I don't care if it is or isn't. This might be hard to comprehend for the most frequent posters and the circle jerk they've gotten used to. Funny jazz in your eyes.

I am not part of any JF clique, and you've been around longer, know more people on the forums, and post a lot more than I do. Since I was the one who made the joke about your sense of humor, I don't see how any of what you said is even remotely true.

That's part of what sucks about you.

You should come down from your pedastal every now and then and have some fun with the rest of us circle jerkers

There have been EYE threads started about it.

I like you post about your (relative) lack of experience, and then proceed to make a point about how my statement is false (an accusation that implies that you know a hell of a lot). That's about as good as your reading of Nietzsche.

In short, yeah, my humor is the topic of conversation. Now you know.

AND, btw, my point was that several posters were stuck on a notion of my humor or lack thereof. I'm not making a point about my sense of humor or desire to be funny. Reading.
 
And, fwiw, the funniest person active on jazzfanz is about 10% as funny as UB.

Y'all just don't inspire me with the current version of cliquishness. Not funny.

for the record, my girlfriend is a standup comic who does pretty well here in LA (for the diary queens: yes, the dominatrix). A big swath of our friends are from that scene. So, I'm surrounded by people who are funnier than I am... and I have no problem admitting that. But this also means that I don't come to this site for a comedy fix. I have plenty of that. And, for that reason, I don't try to be funny while I'm here. Most of the time I'm here to engage about the jazz, a team I've followed since '86. Weird reason, right?

Your statement implies that my joke is part of some conspiracy against you. That part is nonsense. I'm not even sure what you're babbling about.
