Well, there's now a "never Trump" candidate, and he's LDS and a BYU alum.

It'll be interesting to hear his policies and see if he gets enough support to even get on the ballots.

26 state ballot deadlines had passed when he announced. Another 8 pass tomorrow. That's 34 states that he won't be on the ballot and likely more. Imo, you might as well write in your ideal candidate than this dude. It's not clear to me what he's pushing for anyway. That being said you should do what you want and feel is right.

Also people need to stop saying that other candidates(even last minute write ins) are taking votes away from Hilary or Trump. They have no claim on these votes. Most, if not nearly all voters that choose someone else, wouldn't vote for either the big D or the big C if given a binary choice. Most would just say **** it and abstain.

The way candidates win elections is by getting their people to show up and everyone else to stay home. Most people don't vote.

Candidates don't win or lose elections because votes were "stolen" from them or their opponent.

In his interview I saw yesterday I think he said that with petitions and/legal challenges he could get on most if not all ballots. But presumably that'll take money and support. So it'll be interesting to see if it can happen. If so, it'll demonstrate he's a legit candidate imo.

He could, not he will. That is assuming that every legal challenge and petition is granted. I doubt that all of them will be. I doubt most of them will be.

Certainly,, the physical definition of momentum does not apply.

However, once people have decided, confirmation bias tends to kick in. It's much harder to persuade someone against voting for Clinton after they have decided to vote for them, because people don't like to change their opinions. So, momentum exists in that sense.

Good, it's a dumb thing but it is real.

So why express frustration with someone that sees it and knows it exists? Shouldn't it be a good thing that people are aware of it and try to prevent themselves from being part of it? Generally speaking.

Wishing that the Republican party would oust him and bring Ryan in as the nominee so that we don't have Clinton or Trump in office. There is still time and Ryan would easily defeat Clinton IMO. Imagine the vitriol for the next four years with Clinton in office.

Don't be so confident. Let me see if I can explain:

First off, I am the odd duck who doesn't hate politicians. I don't really care when they act up because that is what we make necessary of them. It's our fault they axe a foo.

I constantly hear people bitching and moaning about local politicians selling out, or changing perspective the further they get East of the Mississippi.

It's a republic so I find these pure democracy vote rants idiotic.

WTS, as soon as Outsider Trump won the nomination it seems to me that many anti-establishment people completely flipped their stance and started pushing for establishment. I've heard plenty of hard core conservative columnists and talk show hosts use words like experienced, capable, competent, etc.

That is what I find funny. Culture created Trump with their belly aching and now they hate their own artwork.

I agree Hillary is by far the most likely outcome right now. And I think I've said before that I myself consider her preferable to Trump, even though I really detest her as well.

I was referring to Trump, not the new guy. I don't mind Hillary but if this guy gets any momentum in Utah to upset Trump I will vote for him. I could see some money backing a Never Trump, Never Hillary ticket and winning Utah at minimum. Maybe he should give Mitt a call for his epic ability in campaign fundraising.

Side note: I'm proud the way this country is reacting to Trump and many of us fully willing to cross party lines even for a candidate that many detest. It's been a fun ride to watch.

Loving this as well. Republicans and their various support systems spend 8 years doing everything they can demonizing Obama specifically and the left in general - he's not an American, he's a Muslim, he's a socialist, he hates our country, etc... And then wonder why they're stuck with this type of constituency that nominates the loudest most obnoxious one of them.

It's like the rabid cat is out of the bag and they have no clue how to get it back in.
