For half of any given season, Eli Manning looks like he needs to hang it up. And for the other half, he looks like he can hang with his brother.

Half the season?

Manning single-handedly carried the team during stretches this season when The Giants were decimated with injuries. While ultimately I agree he is not in the same class as Brady, Brees and Rogers, he is way better than you're giving him credit for.

A couple of things, Cyrone just to let you know the 9'ers did beat the Giants earlier this year in San Fran it was down to the wire but the 9'ers D stopped them from getting a TD in the final seconds to hold on and win.

It also bears mentioning The Giants played the game without their best running back (Bradshaw) and without their defensive leader (Tuck).

When Tuck, Osi and Pierre-Paul are all healthy and playing at the same time, The Giants defensive line is borderline unmanageable.

I'm not guaranteeing a win by any stretch. The 49er's are legit. But this Giants team is much better than the team that played in San Fran back in November.

To the Jet fans, screw you. I liked Sparano, the team never quit on him and while overly conservative I liked his offense, he's probably a better OC then HC evident on how his HC record ended.
The Jets didn't fire him, your ****ty organization did. We're just doing our part to bring unemployment down.

Sure Eli isn't a top 2 QB in the league, but I'd say he is top 5. Anyway, this week just think to yourself who'd you rather have as QB in a one game playoff to get into the Superbowl, Eli Manning or Alex Smith.

Meh. Rodgers, Brady, Brees, Rothlisberger, that other Manning (when healthy, of course), maybe even Philip Rivers and Cam Newton. I'd probably take any of these guys before Eli. Honestly, if I had to choose between Eli and Jay Cutler, I'd have to think really hard about it.

No need. Fortunately the NFL has gifted us this matchup, so we'll be able to see for ourselves. But as a Niners fan, if I had the option of swapping QBs this week, I wouldn't do it. No need to go off on me about how Eli is better than Alex. That's not my point. But Alex is the right guy for the Niners right now.

Depends, do you need a 28 yard run to keep the game alive?

Eli has a trophy, Smith does not. Eli has been a much better QB than Smith.
Smith has done what SF needed this year, so that can't be discounted.

For those who don't think Eli is elite, you are crazy. I understand why maybe you wouldn't think so because you haven't seen him play much. I'm a life long Giants fan and I have seen everygame since he came into the league. He wasn't elite until that year he won the superbowl. That was the year he came into his own. But even before that he was a good quarterback. He has always been good late in games and on the road. This year has been something entirely different. He has elevated his game even further. The Giants run game has been terrible this year. And that is putting it lightly. Brandon Jacobs is a complete joke. Bradshaw is ok. Jacobs is way overrated, and I guarantee he is let go at the end of the year. Manning has been carrying the offense to this point. He is incredible on third down. He has been put in 3rd and long all season long. And he always comes through. Manning threw for 4900 yards this year without a run game. He broke the record for 4th quarter touch down passes.

Yes he looks goofy and his body language isn't great but this guy is the real deal. Infact I would take him over his brother in a big game. He is clutch. There are only three guys that anyone can argue he isn't better, and that is obviously Brady, Brees, and Rodgers. But I think he is just as good as those guys now. But that is just me being a homer.

Bradshaw is plenty good and so is Jacobs. That is not a bad RB committee at all. The key is that he has a lot of guys to throw to and you can't zero in on any one guy. Cruz, Nicks, Manny, etc. And that's not counting Boss either. Not saying Manning isn't a good QB but it's not like it's just him. Top 10 maybe.

What really sets Eli apart is his football IQ. He leans on it a lot on third down/4th quarter when things get crazy. The Giants throw a lot at him during the week, too.

Oh and just wanted to point out that as well as the 9'ers have played and as much as they run the ball the O-Line is still suspect as they have given up the most sacks in the league this year.

Oh and catratcho, I know the Phins fired him I just wish he wouldn't have went to a division rival, oh and I don't think an excuse is ever really needed to say screw you to the jets.
