What's new

Not a good look - Donovan's mother got yelled at

I don't see why the Jazz would object to Mitchell talking about racial discrimination. That kind of censorship would be weird and taboo.
The Jazz are probably one of the most conservative Org. in the NBA, that's probably why. They don't like to rock the boat.

Why is it hard for people to judge actions before all else? Not skin color, religion, ethnicity, sex, sexual orientation, etc. Ugh.

LOL .. obviously the Jazz PR must have had a chat to Donovan about the inappropriateness of the tweet.
Uhh no I really doubt that. Steve Starks (Jazz President) even replied to the tweet and said how good of a person his mom is. He probably deleted it off of his own free will.

Yeah, I just hopen this wasn't in Utah (probably is though since it's an apartment and not her own house). Hope it doesn't sour Donovan's view of the city. He's been raving about Utah even in the JJ Reddick broadcast.

Sadly why players, mostly the colored ones don't wanna play in Utah. But not all of them...

Yah he tweeted that out, doesn't mean he couldn't change his mind after a team meeting on the matter though.

Probably NYC

Probably deleted it to avoid dragging his mom into a public controversy

White dudes in the Jazz FO probably not super comfortable telling a young black kid he can't talk about race

He's from Westchester, which is like an entire county of suburbs of northern NYC. It's highly racially segregated...its largest city is called White Plains luls. I'm willing to bet this transpired in Westchester. Too bad.

The tweet wasn't anything that would be that outrageous. I'd be really surprised if the Jazz organization asked him to pull it. More likely Donovan did it on his own, or perhaps his mom asked him to.

Eh? What makes you think he's quoting someone else? It's not a retweet neither.

Do you know how much apartments in NY costs bro?! They're not small & shabby!
His dad is the director of player's relationships for the NY Mets. Mitchell grew up with a silver spoon. I'm sure his parents could easily afford an apartment in NY.

It 100% didn't happen in Utah. Mitchell has been with the Jazz for barely a year. It says his mom has lived at the apartment for "years." Pretty clear it wasn't here in Utah.

That said, I wish these ****s would go. Between this guy and the dude in Riverside asking the black family if they showered before entering the pool it's absolute cringe worthy.

Props to Mitchell for speaking up and using his platform for good. With great power comes great responsibility.
