What's new

Thats insane Ace didnt get a whistle there
I think he was fouled but not rewarded with the foul because he was out of control.

It's really difficult to evaluate what's going on when Wemby is playing. He's just effects the game so uniquely. Then for the majority of the second half we were playing against non rotation players, so again difficult to evaluate what's going on.
If wemby can avoid injury/health issues then I feel its inevitable that he is the best player in the league for a minimum of a few years and maybe has a lebron like streak of being the best player in the league. Spurs are too lucky in the lottery. **** em.
At least they are a small market I guess.
Wemby will almost certainly be DPOY a record number of time if he stays healthy.

Also, it was nice to see Hendricks get to the line 7 times and make them all. If that holds up, he's right on schedule, even if that 3 isn't always falling.
Have been really pleased with his expansion of his offensive game. A few posts ups, attacking closeouts on the drive and finishing, had a nifty play last night schooling the defender in the paint on the baseline going under the hoop and finishing on the other side, cutting and receiving the pass and taking a dribble and then exploding for a dunk (should have been a 3 point play too as he was 100% hacked on the arm), got an offensive rebound and powered through the defender for a finish.
He might be much more than just 3 and D like we all thought.

I thought Harper looked really good. A Lauri for Harper trade just makes too much sense for both sides. Specifically for SAS Wemby is ready to compete and they already have Fox locked up.
This.
Get it done.

Oh and I loved the minute distribution last night and hope to see similar minutes all season.
Bailey with 39 minutes
Keyonte with 36
Taylor with 34
Clayton with 34
Brice with 28
Cody with 26

I know that Flip, Kessler, and Lauri have to be added to that but Im hoping that when they come back it means that Kyle, Kevin, Svi and Nurk ride pine unless injuries happen.

Yeah, but Washington and Charlotte could easily be worse, Brooklyn is definitely worse, and we still haven't seen out two best players.

Every single one of our youngsters has made considerable progress. The worst record depended on us giving developmental minutes to players that weren't ready. I'm not sure we have a lot of that unless we sit young players for other young players who are playing worse. Kessler sure isn't going to sit out with Tankitis this year.

I don't think we lose our pick, but I think we will need a lot of luck for a top 3 pick.
Yes, but. But last season the Jazz posted the worst records with Collins playing 31 MPG and Sexton - 28. Absolutely nobody from our young players are even close to their level. And young players on Washington and Charlotte will also be better this year, very similar to the Jazz youngsters.

Also, don't forget that our competition, Washington, Charlotte and Brooklyn are not only in the much weaker Eastern conference but also have to play each other a lot. That fact along gives the Jazz the handicap of 2-5 wins. Last season the Jazz were 8-44 in their conference, while Washington - 13-39, Charlotte - 10-42, Philadelphia - 15-37, Brooklyn - 14-37.

All the Jazz need to do is to find a way to at least split even the series with Washington, Charlotte and Brooklyn and they will be fine.

The young guys have looked great on offense which is really promising. Hard to ignore just how disorganized and bad this team has been on defense though.

Sounds like I might get my cake and eat it too.
Fun high scoring games with super young guys putting up great numbers and a top pick in a loaded draft.

You take it early in the clock so that if you miss you can extend the game and have another chance. Which ended up working when we watched key hit the 3 to send to overtime.
I didn't like the shot a ton (dont like long twos like you said) but it was pretty uncontested at least. Just a little short.
Yeah I didn't mind him getting and taking the shot when he did, but it felt like he settled too quickly. He needed to sell that dive for another dribble or 2, to setup the step back, and it would've made the shot in the 15'-16' range instead of the 19'-20' range he took it.

But absolutely a good learning experience and teachable/coachable moment for Ace.
