Fish and BigB's buddy hit the liquor fast and hard. franklin's friend, Joe, I don't know how much he had had to drink but he was pretty trashed. But, all-in-all no one got out of line. It was a little annoying that it was taking people forever to play their hands. I think we had a couple 15 min rounds that only saw three hands.
So from what I can remember, at my table seat 1 me, 2 Dave, 3 Sue (my wife's friend), 4 Curtis (6'9" guy), 5 broncster, 6 Siro, 7 devgchr, 8 my wife, 9 franklin's friend, Joe, 10 Andy (Dave's brother).
Table 2, I don't know the exact order, but it was BigB dealing, Bronco70, Lee (BigB's dad), Dylan (Dannon), Gustavo (my boss), Austin (Dannon), Adam (Dannon), BigB's friend, Fish, Babyperterzz.
Fish and BigB's friend were right next to each other and I think they were having an unspoken drinking contest (unless I missed it and they flat out challenged each other to each drink 750ml of liquor in about 30min). So most of the noise was from them.
I need to be more prepared to color-up as we go. It's really hard when I'm still in the game as I don't want my chips getting mixed up with the chips for color-up and all that.
I think I'm gonna have longer breaks next time. I spend pretty much the whole break working and I never get any of the good food.
I have to apologize because a lot of times someone is talking to me and I get interrupted and lose track of the conversation. My mind is all over the place when I'm hosting and I don't mean to ditch a conversation like that.
It was really awesome of Sue to shuffle when it got down to the last few people. She's done that several times. Really keeps the end of the game moving.
Also, this was more of a party atmosphere game. When we were doing the league it was still very friendly but it moved a lot faster and people were way more focused on playing. I think both are good. I do feel bad, though, for people who are more interested in playing serious poker and have to deal with a slow moving game.
I didn't really talk about this ahead of time but this was pretty good for me because my boss didn't really know me at all and had a pretty negative impression of me. We actually had a not good meeting (first time I had actually sat down and talked to him) a few weeks back and just after he was leaving he asked Curtis to let him know next time there was a poker game. I guess someone else at Dannon had hosted a poker game recently. Curtis was like "well yeah, "Gameface" is having a poker game on the 23rd, come to that." And long story short my boss wants us to run a poker league together. I'm pretty sure he enjoyed my poker setup. I'm modest and all, but my basement was purpose built to host poker games, and it serves its purpose well. I really enjoy the energy in the room during a tournament.
I sucked. I have no idea why I picked the moment I did to make a stupid bluff but I bluffed into a multi-way pot with a very drunk very big chip leader in the hand. He called my bluff. I really hated feeding him chips, especially on such a stupid bluff.
