Leach isn't going to leave when he's finally got things turning around in Wazzou.
As much as it absolutely pains me to admit it, and as much as I love KW as a coach, I'm really starting to question if we will ever be successful in our offense with him leading the charge.
Sometimes a change is a good thing. I don't know.
Regardless, this is still an improved season over last year, provided we can take care of business against Colorado - which is by no means guaranteed.

Wazzou is not a program you get turned around and stay at. You turn them around and then get the **** out of Wazzou.

I think Utah's in the middle. You leave Wazzou for Utah and you leave Utah for a USC type of job.

Everybody knows that you leave Bowling Green for Utah, you leave Utah for Florida, you leave Florida for ESPN, and you leave ESPN for Ohio State. Sheesh.

I said this years ago and many times in between, if Whit can just trust his OC and leave him be he'd be a great HC.
I am also trying to believe (because changing OC's every year is not and never is an answer) that A-Rod is learning and need to be patient with him growing into the role.
I do believe and have also stated that the offense can be conservative and have more variety and be able to adjust and change things up as the season goes. That is why the U's offense has gotten worse and worse as the season goes, every team knows not just that the U is going to run the ball, but how and where and everything exactly down to any minute detail there can be known. Every team knew the U was going to run the ball since the beginning of the season, since being in the PAC12 and before in the MWC and lots of teams have do this. The other team are a run heavy team or a pass heavy team but they can mix and have a variety of different options based what the defense gives and takes away. The Utes have what seems like maybe 2 options on most of the few different plays they actually use and of those 2 options they use option A the majority of the time.
Yes that is over simplifying and overstating the issue but I believe the root of what I'm saying is for the most part truly the problem.

I also agree that since the U joined the PAC12 they should model their offense more of Stanford style just because of realistic recruiting base, they can still have a spread'ish type of offense just not a true spread like AZ St and the like. It feels like Whit could be holding on to these ideas back from when Urban Meyer days because of the success and how much the fans loved it, instead of catering to the best players the U can get.

It's sad that Travis is the first 4 year starter at the U and he's complete trash, he can't even throw the simplest of passes, the quick slant...
Any chance Utah and Miss State could play each other in a bowl game? Miss St ranked 21 and Utah ranked 23.
I can't imagine Utah loses to Colorado, and I think Miss St will beat Ole Miss. So we will probably be ranked somewhere in the 15-20 range and Utah will be around 20. Possibility?

The PAC-12 has affiliations with bowls that pit us against:
1. MWC or BYU (Vegas Bowl)
2. ACC/Notre Dame (Sun Bowl)
3. Big 10 (Foster Farms)
4. Big 10 (Holiday)
5. Big 10 (Rose)
6. Big 12 (Alamo)
7. Big 12 (Cactus)
The SEC has bowls with matchups against the ACC/Notre Dame, Big 10, Big 12, and AAC.
So basically, the only way the PAC-12 and SEC play each other in a bowl game are as a result of one of the Championship Semis, the Championship game, one of those other conferences not getting enough teams to qualify for bowls leaving at-large bids, or two at-large bids on a NY6 or some other bowl without enough qualifying teams from its conference affiliations.
Plus, Utah would have to have a really bad record (6-6ish) to be low enough in the bowl selection criteria to be at-large available.
So in other words, that's not happening this year. No way.

What are the chances we get matched up with BYU? I could see it happening just because of economics, but I'm not sure how BYU's bowl commitments are structured. Unfortunately this year is ending on such a down note for the Utes that whatever bowl match-up we have will probably feel like a bit of a disappointment.
