What's new

Okay, I'm stupid and stuff...

Ha. My wife is super good natured. I’m lucky she’s attracted to brooding souls. But she is pulling me into lighter and lighter moods as the months pass.
This pleases me

Maybe give it a break, eh?
I asked him why he closed a thread because I was genuinely confused about why he did it.

He came back at me with "get over yourself."

I was like, I'm actually just curious why?

He was like, I'm done with this along with several personal digs along the way.

So give what a break? Wondering why he picked that thread to close. I still don't really understand. And I get that he doesn't have to justify that as he puts it, this site has "hands off moderation" until they arbitrarily decide to be hands on. It isn't really arbitrary, if you bother Jason he'll try to do something so that he doesn't have to be bothered by it. That's the core of how he manages this site.

So thanks for the advice, but maybe you should give it a break with giving me advice?

@Gameface,

You’re sort of breaking hearts around here, man, because you’ve appeared to be struggling with one thing or another for quite a while.

How can we help you turn a page?

As I've said, and it's true so believe it or not, I'm doing fine. My life is going fine. I'm good with the page I'm on. I don't need to make you good with. I don't have any interest in doing so.

My @Gameface hypothesis:

There are several deleterious effects from nightshift work. These often start with changes that result from insulin insensitivity, which are created by breaking diurnal rhythms.

Before you know it, your wife is driving a Mini Clubman and things are crazay af.
I maintain the same sleep schedule more or less between my days off and days at work. Maintaining my circadian rhythm is important to me.

That said, on my days off I'm up at 3, 4, 5, 6am, have had a few drinks and have very little productive **** to do while I sit alone with my thoughts. I'm not proud of posting some of the **** on jazzfanz that I have. But I'm also not posting rambling incoherent nonsense. Overly aggressive, confrontational, sometimes mean and **** I should probably either not say or say differently? Sure.

I'm sorry I missed that.
You missed it because that's not even what happened.

When Jason was summoned he looked around, saw that I had posted in that thread recently, figured that would be the quickest path to "being done with this" and locked it.

There was nothing special about the "pissing match" in that thread. I'd rate it a 4/10 as compared to the daily pissing matches that go unchecked.

Moral of the story is don't make Jason have to actively participate in jazzfanz because he really doesn't want to.

If you’re awake at 3 or 4AM on a regular basis, then your circadian rhythm isn’t being tended to. And if you’re doing what 90-99% of Americans are doing before bed (eating, drinking alcohol, bathing themselves in the blue light of their devices, etc.), then that is putting your sleep under further strain.

But I agree with you on one thing: how you use this site and how you come across to other people on this site provides very little to zero insights into how you’re ACTUALLY doing.

That said, it may have provide some insights. And you may not be aware of the signs that do leap through. For example, your behavior is consistent with someone with high cortisol levels... and that is consistent with ****ed sleep and diurnal rhythms....
