Couldn’t be helped as game went into overtime. Plus they were starting instead of coming off the bench.Joe and jc just average 23-25 minutes, bumping them 2x is a recipe for injury. We could have given Oni more playing time. He just played 2 minutes !!
How does it help resting all those guys when Ingles, Bojan, and JC all push 40 or more? By the time everyone else comes back, we'll need to load manage Bojan, JC, and Ingles, and play Donovan, Rudy, and Mike heavily to do so.I don’t know. I think I’d rather get it over with with 1 o2 pops then stagger it and be at less than full strength for a week.
Just can't emphasize it enough, to win it all our perimeter D has to do better than the level that Royce is currently showing. Classic example of regular season intensity vs. playoffs intensity when it matters. There's a timeout with 7 seconds left and we left JC and Bojan out there. You can't plug Oni in? He's sold as the reason we didn't need to upgrade wing defense and when we're down three starters, he still doesn't see the floor for a defensive possession?
Well hell Quin obviously should’ve realized before hand the game would go into overtime, WTF was he thinking??!!How does it help resting all those guys when Ingles, Bojan, and JC all push 40 or more? Oh, sorry... let me adjust for that:Well hell Quin obviously should’ve realized before hand the game would go into overtime, WTF was he thinking??!!
What constitutes a “real-time response to a player’s needs”? There have been a lot of attempts to improve the gathering of evidence in shorter and more responsive increments, but it remains very difficult to do. And there’s already a lot we know about the risk of injury on b2bs and when you run into 40+ minutes. There is a good chance that ending up as 2nd or 3rd seed may be just as good as the number 1 seed. Just play the game and respond as players need it.
The Spurs rested DeMar DeRozan, Jakob Poeltl and Patty Mills in their 111-85 win over the Suns on Saturday night.
I have always been a fan of the thought that their team is expected to win while resting key players.
If those minutes are ultimately meaningless, then why are we resting people?Yep, there is no possible way Joe Ingles will recover from the extra 8 minutes he had to play in ONE damn game. Heavy minutes is a problem when it happens consistently. The Jazz have actually done a masterful job of not playing their stars long minute all season and using their depth. Ingles, Royce, and Bojan recently had some time off. They weren't going to break in 6 extra minutes of play time.
It was both the right call to rest a bunch f players AND try to win the game. Stop being such ninnies!
No they waited to until guys were legitimately banged up.So will Jazz be fined for resting players
If our strategy with Phoenix is to bank on them losing, then that’s often not a great strategy and tends to backfire a lot. The universe goes out it’s way to make sure we get the worst outcome, too, when we fail to put forth a bit of effort and expect “the odds” to play out. Go watch the last day of the 2019 season, for instance.
God I hate fans! God I hate myself. LolOh, sorry... let me adjust for that:
JC 41 mins and 35 minutes for Ingles, Bojan and Royce.
Yes, wonderful.
