The finances don't work the same both ways. In the Harpring/Maynor instance, the Jazz were mostly saving on LT payments. Some of Harp's salary was being paid by insurance and OKC didn't have to worry about the tax ramifications. So OKC basically 'bought' Maynor for a few million while the Jazz saved somewhere around $8.

No matter what, the organization saves money and get a 2nd rounder (eventually). Whether they're more on the 'saving$11 million' side or more on the 'getting something down the road' side is what's the question now. Add that to more time for the young players and Memo was on his way out and you've done something pretty smart.

I am in favor of things that give a team more options. Despite my initial hatred of the Deron trade.

I don't consider Walker a shoot first point guard. Prior to last season, he was primarily a distributor, and thrives in that role. Dude is as competitive as they come, understands pace and spacing, and is a tremendous leader and presence on the floor. A winner.

What was you're point again? You and selby have an eerily similar ability of making this thread into something completely different. If you didn't notice the title... It's not about what a good job KOC is doing or MJ's finances. I realize I ignored selby the first time so thank you for getting over it.

I/others said: "It's not about getting a high dollar player."

You said: "If we get Maynor, big whoop"

I/others said: A late first was the best we were going to get for Memo in the first place. So that's not bad. Then GVC offered a possible scenario.

You said: "Yeah, but who can we get?"


So what is YOUR point? We've already covered the list of guys we could swap. Now we're covering the other possibilities for the TPE. This is called a discussion. Feel free to just listen if you can't follow it.
