Playoff Game 7: Jazz @ Clippers Sun 4/30/17 1:30 PM ABC

For all intents and purposes, this series was our ceiling series this season, so game 7 is like our championship game. Pretty cool to push it that far, missing Rudy for three games. (I actually think we could possibly beat everyone in a series but the Warriors and possibly Spurs.)

Blake Griffin has missed most of this series...

So I'm not sure we can use the Gobert injury anymore.

I'm curious, does anyone know if there has been a playoff series where the higher seed loses 3/4 home games?

Sure, but suppose Rudy doesn't go down and Utah wins 1, 3, and 4. The entire heft of the series shifts. Of course, we could ask whether Utah would've lost game 1 if Rudy hadn't gone down. Griffin's absence hurt them, yes. We've beat them twice without him, they've beat us twice without Rudy.

Griffin is their third most impactful player. Gobert is our number 1. Take out Paul or Jordan instead of Griffin for those games and we win easily.

Irrelevant. Griffin is their leading scorer. They've never won a playoff series without him.

Besides that, the Clippers went on their run when Mo Spates and Crawford came in and tore us a new one while Hood went -21.

We can't use the Gobert injury excuse anymore. Especially when you consider how awful our offense has been. How many more bricks from Hood and Jingles must we blame on Gobert? How many more free throws must Hill miss that we blame on the refs?

So when we can't score, and defense is what our game plan is built around, you take out Gobert and that doesn't make a difference? Yes, we need to score, but that's not what this team is built around. Our strength is defense and without Gobert to protect the rim we will rarely win. Especially with Favors playing as if he's wearing 25 pound ankle weights. If we can't say Gobert being out affects our ability to win it's time to come up with a whole new scheme and it's a little late in the season for that.

i have the flu so had to call it a night at halftime. those who watched the game, is it over? Sounds like the clips got us figured out. I noticed the offense was considerably bogged down in the first half it seemed.

You couldn't be more wrong. Game 7 in Houston?

Also, for those of you who like numbers:

Utah Jazz have never lost a playoff series in which they have led 3-2. (5-0)

LA Clippers have lost 8 of 9 series in which they trailed 3-2.

Great work. I can't believe how little faith people have. We can win this game. We haven't been great the last two games... Hood is due for one of his nuclear games. We need just one role player to break out.

We missed a lot of shots... this ain't over.

They had no pressure last game... everyone wrote them off... we got tight... let's see if they can do it under pressure.

It's hard to shoot with a tight sphincter.

It doesn't matter how well you protect the rim if you shoot 26 percent from 3 and 50 percent from the FT line. Had griffin played last night the game would've been a blow out, for them. I don't think they would've lost game 5 had Blake played. The clippers are a better team than us with him. We need to stop using the gobert injury excuse when they would've finished this series up in 5 had he stayed healthy.

Let's not forget, they won the season series 3-1. Some of those games were blowouts. We are missing a huge opportunity to beat them while he's out.

Besides, our jump shooting team seemed content to brick jumpers even when DJ was out. No one seemed to want to drive the ball inside. We are a soft team.

So we have like a 35-40 percent chance of winning this game... at the start of the series that is where I would have put us... we have one game where we need to make a few shots and a few balls need to bounce our way. It's not like we are down 0-3 here.

They still don't have Blake... we have the law of averages on our side as we are due... they don't have a big homecourt advantage and they are just as tired or more than us.

Not sure why a fan would choose to write their team off... but some of you only come around when there is negativity to celebrate.
