In 2013 the Heat didn't play a C per se so if Bosh was considered the C, he didn't spread the floor
Yes he did. His role on offense for those teams was to hit 18-20 footers, pulling opposing bigs out of the paint

You would assume this, but it depends.
In 2012 the Heat had Joel Anthony who didn't really spread the floor.

The people that could spread the floor for the Heat would have been whoever was playing the 1 and 2, and if James slid over to the 4, whoever came in as the 3... but not the 5 or 4 spots.
I chose those years as those are the two championship years.
Which is not as far as the 3pt line, and the guy guarding Haslem wouldn't go even that far out if they were both in.
It wasn't spreading the floor in the sense that most people think of to the 3pt line, it's less than that.
Was it enough, sure, because Lebron is a freak. It doesn't mean the 5 that plays with James has to be able to hit a 3.... and even still Bosh is a 4, not a 5.
Bosh shot 218 3's last season, compared to 309 by Allen, 306 by James, and 210 by Battier.

What? It was spreading the floor; Bosh's presence pulled defenders out of the paint, creating more space for LeBron and Wade to attack. It wasn't spreading the floor in the sense that most people think of to the 3pt line, it's less than that.

Depends on the draft year. This year, yes. Last year we got our international man of mystery in Gobert...extremely lucky he was overlooked. But you look back over the past decade at the players taken in the 23-30 range: for every one serviceable player there are 5 who didn't amount to very much.As for the suggested trade, a future first round pick is very valuable even if will likely be a late first round pick.
I've always thought Kanter should be about 400 lbs. Kind of like that Baby Shaq guy from Greece:

Embrace the inner bull. That's your game.
Trading Kanter for scraps right now would be stupid. If we were all gleefully on board for Favors becoming a player he's never been in year 4 at $50/4, I see no reason to just pass on seeing if Kanter REGAINS form with no salary on the line.
If he produces at a good rate and has a prominent role, he will certainly net more than a few weak scraps. And if Kanter is abysmal, then the Jazz missed on an "opportunity" to trade for a bunch of nickels.
I see no reason to trade Kanter right now versus mid-season.

Mid season makes sense for sure. I don't think he will be in Utah past the deadline though. Do we want to overpay another non all star. The only way I see this team becoming contenders is with some serious depth and a good system. The best way for that depth to be affordable in the long run is by having extra talent on rookie contracts.
Reply to everyone else.
Bennet has a good personality from what I can tell and would be a decent 3 off the bench. I also think that when it comes time for him to renegotiate a contract his team will get a good deal. The real prize I think is future firsts.
From the cavs perspective they need a quality big NOW! With James having a PO after the first year a cheap rookie scale big fills a need while retaining space for more players. Kanters Expiring contract also gives them the flexibility they will need to bring in FAs if they decide they want to upgrade Kanter or can't get him to sign for less money(assuming lbj stays). It seems pretty clear that if the cavs want to keep James they better fill every position and have some depth.(again right now)
