Possible Kanter trades?

Will it be Kanters fault again, that his teammates can not hit wide open 3 point shots ? :) You want a stretch four ? First off all teach your ****ing guards to shoot....

It seems pretty clear that if the cavs want to keep James they better fill every position and have some depth.

James will retire in Cleveland. Book it. No way he can say what he has said and anything else happen. If he left his credibility and his legacy are gone, and he knows it.

Second, if the Cavs land Love, they will not have room to fill gaps with any type of quality (with 2 max and one mini-max). Their hope is to fill team with players on vet minimums, guys who are financially set and want a championship. I bet there will be interest in this area.

The issue is not keeping Kanter the player. It will be keeping both Kanter and Burks contract-wise. Kanter is gonna want a Favors payday and will get it on the open market. Burks will get a Wesley Matthews deal or better.

I think most of you undervalue Kanter. He is super strong 6'11" big with soft touch and range. Only 22.2 years old too. I was truly shocked by his poor defense and court awareness last year and I believe this is all mental issues.. I am very unhappy with his involvement with the religious Gulen Sect. Yes, he certainly will be better than last year, he will improve. But one thing he can't obviously do is passing. He stops the flow of offense, hogs the ball, is afraid to turn the ball over. I listened to Q, he wants a team sharing the ball, passing after passing until finding the highest percentage shot. Kanter may actually not be in Q's plans for this very reason. Also the recent moves make me think the Jazz FO might have plans of moving Kanter before the deadline. So we may see Kanter get around 38 mpg, put some numbers like 18/10 so his trade value will rise a bit.

Which sentence is the odd man out?

Which sentence is the odd man out?

Yes there is an odd-man-out sentence in jjscap's posts :-)

But otherwise i think he has a point. I'm curious as to his fit in the new Q-fense. But we'll see if it is about a choice for Kanter or rather his ability to do what is asked of him. Kanter was showing his promise before the shoulder injury. I'm still hopeful he reaches his potential with Jazz.

I just kind of was like, huh? at the bolded. Not that it's not important, but was just so randomly placed that I found it funny.

PKM,

Knowing what you know about Kanter, Synder, etc. -- would you care to make a prediction about Kanter's role next year? his productivity?

I don't have a clue.

I haven't spoken to Kanter directly but one time since he was drafted, but spoke to him and hung out dozens of time while he was at UK. I told lots of people the guy has 3pt range and a sweet stroke.. dude can flat play.

Here's the problem, as stated all the way back to pre-draft.. he needs a coach that will spend considerable time with him, make him feel needed and important, and lots of individual instruction. I saw him thrive when Cal would work with him one on one and he would dominate practices.. just as he handled Cousins and got under his skin, big time.

Most NBA coaches just do not expect to have to hand hold guys, stroke their egos, and cater to their high maintenance issues.. nor should they have to, it's a profession. But it is what it is. Kanter gives you what you give him. He will kick some *** if Q decides he wants to put in the time a la DMC.. and won't if he won't.

He's a great baller, an insanely hilarious dude, and he loves contact and the physicality of the game.. but he's like a kid in that he needs lots of pats on the back and good pep talks. So for me, the question comes down to whether Q sees he's worth all that extra effort.

Before he was drafted I said within 3 - 5 years he's a 15/12 type of guy, iirc.. I still think that who/what he is.

So, having said all that, I think Q sees a big with tremendous upside that can be maintained on a reasonable contract.. he does, in fact, start to spend some quality time with Enes, makes an evaluation, requests he's extended/kept early while value is low, then takes him under his wing and Enes becomes a solid 15-18 ppg and 10-12 rpg guy.

Btw, I'm not normally for catering to needy players, but Enes is a really good kid and could be a very valuable contract. An exception to the rule, if you will.

Not this Gulen "sect" ******** again. The Gulen movement is a moderate Islamic movement that preaches a discourse and ethical code based in interfaith principles, and they operate dozens of schools in the United States. The nation that taps the phones of German politicians and won't let you carry a larger than travel size can of shaving cream on a 90 minute flight to Vegas isn't going to allow an Islamic sect to open schools. The only people that consider the Gulen movement to be a sect are Turkish nationals who don't like the group's influence in the Turkish political structure and, in particular, their advocacy of moderate policies.

Kanter is fine, at least in this regard. The LDS church is far more secretive and "sect"-like than the Gulen movement.

Chill.

Kanter got a lot of hate for not passing when the double team came, but did any of you notice who was open for the outlet pass? NO ONE. The guard would pass into Kanter and then move to the weak side, thereby placing five defenders between Kanter and his Jazz teammates.. Later in the season, the guard would stay home and -- surprise! surprise! -- Kanter became a better passer.

This is what I am talking about!

When Kanter comes to Jazz they tell him you are too big you are too slow you do not post up with good form you do not shoot you can only play left block no right block. These are all his strengths why do they take them away? Why do they want big time bruiser to go on sissy diet and exercise? Kanter needs to sling the irons like a real man and become a beast again like he was at Kentucky.

I'm convinced. As the driver of the Kwame Kanter bus, I will head straight to the local diocese for confession and penance in two days time, unless the cat licks are open on Sabado. Confession Audio forthcoming.

Your confession here will suffice. Go forth and prosper.
