I think a lot of the Hayward fans take the approach that we should spend the money now and cross our fingers he someday evolves into something more than a above average role player. The Jazz took that approach with Favors, and we're still crossing our fingers.
He (Favors) got 7 minutes more per game than the prior year.
In those 7 minutes he did the following.
3 more shot attempts
4% better shooting
1.6 more rebounds
slightly more in the assist/steal/tov
slightly less in blk
exactly the same in pf, which is an improvement
4 pts per game
3 more words per game in huddles
1 additional show of emotion (full smile, not half)
And most of the time our defense was better with him in, it went up from the worst ever to the worst in the league or something like that
He's moving in the right direction.
Is it large enough or fast enough? It never is, right. We are demanding fans.
