Predict the Rudy Gobert trade

Ok, you just missed the entire point of the post with your biased garbage but ok.
What is the point? Mitchell will ask for a trade next off-season pretty much no matter what you do. So what's the point? I get it that you want to make a competitive team now. Unless you think this team is one of the favorites for the title next season, i really don't think we should be giving our own picks that far in the future.

I don’t know that team is pretty damn good if you really think about it.

I mean, I’m team tank, so no. I want picks or promising rookie scale players.

On second thought: Since you could probably flip Sabonis and Barnes for such assets, then yes, actually.

Let me be clear on this though: if you’re asking me if I think Gobert is WAY better than Sabonis at playing winning basketball, the answer is yes.
You do that deal in a second. A first from Sacramento... repackage Sabonis and Barnes later.

Just look at what freaking Vucevic or Sabonis got in a trade. If you think Gobert should fetch less then I don't really want to talk about basketball with you. We should treat Gobert with the respect he deserves and not with the urgency CAA wants to get rid off him. If someone wants him they should know who they are trading for - 3 time NBA all star, 4 time All NBA, 3 time DPOY, 6 time first team All D, the best player on a perennial playoff team. And it's not like those happened some distant time back in the past...like 5-10 years ago. This is still the same player! PUT SOME RESPECT ON THAT MAN's NAME and stop with the insulting offers.
100% my man!!!!
These trade rumors on the internet make me want to vomit most of the time. I get Im a Jazz homer and a huge Rudy fan but God damn!!

There is a middle ground here though. It’s like buying a house… the mansion is a better house but the buyer may not be able to make the mortgage.

I’m not a Hunter fan personally… not even a huge JC guy but I think he’s good. I just think those pieces are more flexible than Rudy… I also think Clint is pretty under-rated. I’d rather get the stupid team premium but I think Orlando and Indiana had more patience than we might. We are also trying to do the thing where we trade something good now for something that is also good now but different. Those trades are pretty rare I think. So it’s just a challenging situation. It’s why I’d likely just tear it all down and cash out on everything possible. If you simply took picks and prospects back it’s easier to match stuff up and get great value.
I like this post. I agree with your take on Hunter. TJ is really big on him but I have seen a few Atlanta games cause I watch the Jazz and the Hive and Im not convinced yet.. I really like Collins though.

Gobert is described as “absolutely a (Bulls President of Basketball Operations Arturas) Karnisovas guy.” Karnisovas is known to value length as a priority for building a team to a championship level. As for the talks of Zach LaVine’s free agency, it should be noted that league insiders felt Karnisovas had held a skeptical view of LaVine when he took the job with the Bulls, but of course LaVine’s emergence as a near-All-NBA level guard has shifted that somewhat.

The Raptors are another name to watch as they have been again actively looking at options to improve at center after striking out on bigger targets at the trade deadline and ultimately dealing for Thaddeus Young. The Raptors are limited to only the MLE unless they clear salary, so a trade is the most likely option.

Along those lines, don’t be surprised to see more smoke around a potential trade for OG Anunoby. The Raptors with a re-signed Masai Ujiri like their core, but ultimately upgrades will have to come with the inclusion of one of Fred VanVleet, Pascal Siakam, or Anunoby, and Rookie of the Year Scottie Barnes’ emergence opens the door for gauging Anunoby’s value on the market…

And that value is high.

Rudy is being paid his market value. It's not a bad contract. If it were, there wouldn't be a trade market for him. The guy leads the league in rebounds, FG% and defensive =/-. He's a player who can put the right team over the top.
Agreed on everything but the last line.

I don't think he can win a championship in the current NBA. He is too easy to scheme against. And if yall think that isn't true then Quin was a bozo.

Then there are those of us who think both.

I don't agree that Rudy couldn't win a championship. If he played for Golden State or Boston that team would have the clear advantage to win it all.

Now practically, and maybe this is what you were referring to, it will be difficult to surround him with that type of talent when he eats up as much cap as he does.
