What's new

Radio Personalities

Back in the day: John and Dan in the morning (103.5 then 93.3 before it turned country...utah stations). Mr. Twister, The Bible Brothers and Timmy were classics. Also lots of Robert Lund got radio play with them. Great way to start the day. The same John (John Carter) is now on 103.5 again in the morning, but the new show is the epitomy of "lame". How the mighty hath fallen.

Now I listen to syrius, mp3 or similar, rarely if ever radio.

Alema Harrington is definitely a top pick.

He's just so informative and never says the most obvious things....

I'm surprised that no one has said the Red and Blue show... Or whatever they call the Jan Jorgansen and Kyle Gunther show. LOL those two are hilarious homers. BYU should be playing in the national title according to Jan and Utah should be playing in the superbowl according to Kyle.

I especially like Kyle, who basically puts into voice everything that I imagine Salty saying.

why thank you for the welcome.

I'm a Jazz fan from Day One because I knew someone who worked for the organization in the marketing/radio/TV management from the start. He's still kicking, but retired years ago. I couldn't escape hearing all about it whenever I saw him.

I'm also in sales, but working for a startup company right now. I know a lot of radio folks from my work. . . . "On the road again. . . ." around the west generally. I for one and glad radio found a niche that has got a lot of folks listening, and thinking. I'd like to see America really be a land of opportunity for everyone. Even those who don't think the way I do. Those are the folks who help me clarify my thinking the most.

I am psyched at how good the Jazz are doing this year. A lot better than I dared hope last June.

So, I hope to get to know ya'll.

Go Jazz!!!!!

He thinks you are a hot chick...Babe! LOL! He didn't bother welcoming Millsapa even though she actually is a hot chick. *talking about myself in 3rd person like Malone*

If you must derail... Yes, I'm aware of you entering defense mode after the fact. Someone called you on something yet again, and yet again you became defensive, abandoned your story, and added insulation as fast as you could.

That is false. It was inside the exact same post. There is no timeframe distinction.

Here's the post: https://jazzfanz.com/showthread.php...Cuts-be-Extended?p=79916&viewfull=1#post79916

I was so mad I had to leave work. I was completely unable to function after about 3:30 PM. I actually puked when I got home. I wish I was making any of this up. Admittedly I had a fever this morning, but I swear it was related to Obama. :)

I understand this may have been too subtle for you. Next time I'll add additional smiley faces so you are aware that the post is not to be taken completely seriously.

Then again I'm not certain it would matter. Truth is hardly a metric by which you judge the quality of your own posts.

Back to what I care about--I'm curious about NPR. I'm hoping a well rounded and unbiased individual will offer an assessment. Taking the appraisal of a results driven ideologue is about as good as buying into the sanity story of a Rush Limbaugh fan. If anyone fits the description then please apply.

Please describe what you believe is the ideological bent of NPR. Specific examples are appreciated.

Former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee: “While I have often enjoyed appearing on NPR programs and have been treated fairly and objectively, I will no longer accept interview requests from NPR as long as they are going to practice a form of censorship, and since NPR is funded with public funds, it IS a form of censorship,” he wrote. “It is time for the taxpayers to start making cuts to federal spending, and I encourage the new Congress to start with NPR.”

The objective of PC SOP's/rules/pressures is more steering than censorship IMO.

Well, yeah, Frank. I think that guy is just anticipating the argument that "it can't be censorship, because it aint the government doin it." Williams disclosed a personal "feeling" he got, and they summarily fired him. They won't let him speak on their network anymore, because they don't like what he says. Well, not even that, mebbe, because I don't know what he says on NPR. Because they don't personally like one sentence he said on a talk show. Kinda like sendin sumbuddy to a gulag in the stalinist state. They aint censorin him, they just wont let anyone listen to him, that's all. And, of course, he aint bein "punished" at the gulag, he's just bein "re-educated," that's all.
