RealGM reports Jazz interested in Trading for John Collins

I just like to be cautious with these knee-jerk trade ideas. There's usually a very good reason a winning team wants to jettison a starter they just gave a huge bag to. Collins is ridiculously overpaid for what he brings to the table, and a known malcontent to boot. The Hawks were originally looking to trade him even before they gave him his current deal.

Small market teams are way too eager to jump every time some "name" guy becomes available. The thinking goes "This player would never sign here as a free agent, but now we can get him on a multiyear deal!!"

Just believe in what you're developing in-house if the results are promising (and they are). If anything, we need more playmaking and secure ballhandling, not a guy like Collins.

I think they want a big return for him that is why he hasnt been moved already. If they start selling cheap than I am down. A protected 1st and Olnynk. Gay and NAW I would do pretty easily.

I’m not sure of the fit here for Collins .

Maybe there is another option out there that he really wants and is using this as a bargaining rumour , like he did with the Knicks when we went the cavs trade .

Kuzma would be nice … not sure of his team ball play and how would it effect this team .

I know it gets old , but I can’t think of any realistic trade that fits our play more than Hayward …

Unless Finny is disgruntled and wants a trade,imo the only way Danny trades for Collins ,the way he has been playing since he got busted, is dumping Gay and the a now injured Mike with the Hawks having to pay to get off Collins deal not visa-v

So I really doubt a deal gets done if they are starting talks w/ that kind of horse ****.

After the Hawks asked for Lauri Danny replied with “**** off you ****ing **** suckers I will murder you and everyone you care about if you say his name ever again.” So it’s safe to say it was a nonstarter.

Bet is an interesting name to see out there… he’s not playing well and might be overrated but I’d have some interest in kicking the tires.
