I personally have met hundreds, if not thousands who say the same thing. Like I said, you can make anything compatible with reality if you try hard enough (look at Coltons response about LDS compatibility with physics).

Nothing in the Quran has been proven wrong. People say it is much more accurate because it came out 700 years after the Bible. Well, (here comes the LDS bashing) but the book of Mormon came out in 1830... and lets just compare the two religions.

So, are you saying that because the Quran is newer than the Old Testament writings, people say it is much more accurate, and the Book of Mormon was translated in 1830 so..... by your logic, it must be infinitely more accurate.

The Quran (the spellings are interchangeable btw). The Koran doesn't say that the earth was created in 7 days, it says 7 periods of time. It never states Noah's arc was global but rather in a sizable amount of land so a local phenomena.

There are enough Christians (member of the LDS church included) that read the word "day" in the Old Testament to mean " a period of time it takes to accomplish something". Which using that understanding would mean the Earth was "created" in 6 periods of time, and God rested for a 7th period of time.

I only chose these 3 items to respond to because they were easy pickings, and I am pretty lazy right now.

Well said, and rep'd. In all honesty, I actually haven't met too many that glorify its scientific inerrance, this isn't me just making things up for the sake of an argument. I do get where you're coming from though, and if you don't need the guidance of religion to become a good person, then Im happy for you, and I won't attempt to change your mind (or anything of that sort). My faith keeps me grounded, and it offers a decent amount of answers to questions I myself cannot answer, and its just something that is comforting to me on a day-to-day basis. But hey, too each his own, right? A reason why so many religions (and atheism) exist to this day is because different sets of beliefs and values complement different people, and if it is all meant to contribute positively to a persons life, then does it really matter whether one is Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, and so on?? I have a seriously difficult time imagining that someone like Gandhi would be rejected at the proverbial gates of heaven, instead taking up some selfish, ordinary christian man, who did not contribute much positively.

The LDS church states that having black skin is a curse of god. The LDS church says that Native Americans are from Israel. DNA evidence clearly states that they are from ASIA of arctic Mongoloid origin. I mean, after reading that, it is pretty convincing that the LDS church does not comply with science.

The Koran never states the Sun rotates around the earth, it states that it has a rotation, which it does.

The Koran says that the Earth is egg shaped, more specifically an ostrich egg. Google what an ostrich egg looks like.

The Koran states that ALL living things are made out of water. An illiterate man in the desert said this 1400 years ago. The Quran says the word Hijab zero times.

I love the Christian culture I truly do. I used to be Lutheran and I won't lie if I say I don't miss it, doing what I want to do and never having to pray and saying all my sins will be forgiven is nice. But Muslims are more Christian then Christians in that they follow the teaching of Christ. Just proclaiming you belief in him is a false belief. A vast majority of practicing Muslims don't drink, don't eat pork, and are circumcised. The same cannot be said about Christians. Eating pork and drinking is considered ok because later in the Bible it says "you cannot be corrupted by what you eat but rather by your actions" when previously it states all these things are bad. People take the bible as a buffet my family included. You can't just take what you wanna eat and leave the rest.

All translations are flawed, of course.

I have much more of a problem with the website and its bias (referring to skepticsannotatedbible) than I do with the fact that they use english translations. The problem with the english translations of any scriptural work is that when they use words like non-believer, son and so on their meanings are a bit cloudy; I for one know that there are excerpts in the Quran that hint that even Christians will be accepted on judgement day; on the website, it made to be seen as the quran says the opposite. Hence, some scholars believe that non-believers are people who simply refuse the existence of God, not the islamic faith. But I suppose this comes back to Siromar's point, how anything can really be deduced form a religious scripture; I just happen to think that my way is the correct one

1/6th of the Koran is about science. I glorify the scientific portions of it because it is the only major religion which hasn't been scientifically disproven.

About the Native American DNA not being asian.

I think you misread my post. I didn't say that there was physics evidence for Mormonism. I said that I found science very compatible with Mormonism. Very different statements.

Is it true or not true that LDS members believe that people from Israel came to the Americas and have done some sinful things and got red skin as punishment becoming Native Americans. If you find one Native American who has DNA evidence from Israel, I am sure that many many people would be willing to convert to Mormonism, if it is only one tribe or group are they gone now? Why isn't there a larger effort to find this tribe then, because every single tribe studied so far has Asian descent.

I'm not going to answer the other questions, because I don't really care enough to find out, but I know this is DEFINITELY not true. (p.s. if you haven't been following, I'm not Mormon, that's why I don't care enough about the other things.)

For what it's worth, you are mischaracterizing LDS beliefs. If I were a betting man I'd be willing to bet that I'm much more of a scientist than you are (I'm a physicist and university professor with a PhD from U.C. Berkeley). And I find the LDS church to be very much compatible with science.
