The only problem is... Anderson Silva isn't a black man. He's Brazilian. Not African American. Good job on sticking up for a cause that needed no sticking up.

People of African descent live all over the western hemisphere, which is nominally divided into North AMERICA and South AMERICA. The USA doesn't monopolize the use of the word AMERICA.

Therefore, it is common and correct to refer to Brazilians, Peruvians, Mexicans, Jamaicans, etc. who are of African descent as "AFRICAN AMERICANS".

And for some reason you think when someone says monkey they're talking about african americans? I call my son a little monkey all the time. People are similar to monkeys, all of us regardless of color. It's a term I associate with goofing around, especially in a physical way. Besides that Dutch lives somewhere else, I don't know what the connotation is in his culture. People started jumping his **** just convinced he was being racist. Maybe take a breather and clear your head for a sec and come back at this.

African Americans[3] (also referred to as Black Americans or less commonly Afro-Americans, and formerly as American Negroes) are citizens or residents of the United States who have total or partial ancestry from any of the native populations of Sub-Saharan Africa.[4] The term is not usually used for black residents of other countries in the Americas.

who do you think takes the most **** on this site? not talking about deserved vs. undeserved. i just mean overall, who takes the most **** from other posters? and let's create a list of posters who quit posting likely because of bullying.

i think dutch takes the most ****. surprised honestly that he still wants to talk to all of us.

Sloanfeld used to take a ton of crap from just about everyone. He was also one of the top five best posters of all time.

I was only referring to the post from trout that I quoted. Why am I not surprised that you over-reacted to a politically sensitive topic, and assumed more than should have been assumed?

oh ****ing pleeeeze, are you really gonna reference wiki and then just fly outta here as though you've scooped up some truth? What a ****ing loser. Wiki and Trout were wrong. I don't blame either of them because its a common misperception. I do blame you though... for being an obvious douche and failing to realize it.

The sham is those dolts who think the term "America" refers only to people who legally reside in the USA. That vision is completely derived from a nationalism that is dying. Before that, America referred to the new world, broadly speaking. And since Africans were forcibly brought to that new world, from north to south, for the same reasons, using the term "African American" is correct politically and historically with respect to the experience of African-descended people. I'm one of them, so, yeah.
