Reputation Comments, positive and negative

This is a message board. Personal attacks aside, I see no reason why when two posters have a disagreement, argument, or difference in opinion; that they can't log-off for a while and go spend some time in the real world. Feelings run short on the internet apparently.

I have had no issues with the mods. I had an issue of harassment and I think they dealt with it well. I think this board is pretty damn tame compared to others. Just go visit the Rockets forum. I felt like a blushing virgin bride on her wedding night from some of the stuff they posted there.

That said, I am glad that kind of stuff is kept to a minimum here. I have no issues letting my 14-year-old son read some posts that I think he would like, and he has enjoyed the GIF thread (I skipped some of them though).

If you feel someone is harassing you, report it and let the mods deal with it. There is always the ignore feature too (I currrently ignore 3 people and it doesn't hurt my feelings one bit, I only see what they say when someone else quotes them...works for me). If you report it and it doesn't stop you can report it again, excalate to Jason or Colton, or you can just post elsewhere.

I am sure the Rockets fans will be kind and tender to anyone needing a forum-hug.

Yes!! We're better than Clutchfans! My work here is now complete.

;-)

My bad for thinking the mods should apply the forum rules to everyone (including their cronies and paying customers) whether they were "taken serious" or were "full of crap" or not.

Well, I'm sorry you feel that way, truly. But I think you have a skewed - or maybe idealized - perception of how the moderating works. We discuss every reported item, and have to come to a consensus in as timely a manner as possible. What you consider highly offensive may not be seen that way by others - that's why we generally don't take unilateral action. We try to be as fair as possible, but ultimately we are all human and fallible (except maybe kicky.) So it is impossible to be 100% consistent. But we do the best we can. And regardless of that, there are always those who feel singled out, or believe we show favoritism to certain posters. Doesn't seem to matter what we do, we're stepping on someone's toes. We're too strict. We're too lenient. Can you see what I'm getting at?

So if something bothers you, report it. We will review it. And, just for the record, it is neither clever nor original to inundate us with frivolous reports to make a point.

Heifsapa, if you wanted a translation of this post that would make much more sense to you, here you go:

"Cry harder."

For kicks I did my one and only mod/admin check to see if Sloanfeld was right about a double standard. The whole experience reminded me of Obama's justice department. I just had to laugh at how ridiculous it was.

Out of curiosity, what do you think happened after you reported the rep comments?

You can't even be annoying properly. Please live to 105, enjoying the bliss of allzheimer's and lonliness.

It would sure be a bummer if a tanker full of gas were to run into your car and burned it to the ground. It would suck if you were in the car when it happened.

Like Babe, I do not approve of your duplicate account or your face. I think it would be awesome if you stuck it into the fan belt of a 1985 Chevy van.

Wow. What a dick.

Wow. What a dick.

I dunno, I thought they were rather clever and avoided the whole, "Death Wish" thing pretty well. Not saying I'm not a dick, but you know, I just can't stand cheaters.

By the way, thanks to the mods in my back pocket, I am officially Infraction-Free in approx 18 hours.
