Are people forgetting how badly Hill crapped the bed in the playoffs last year? The only reason I wanted him back for the absurd contract he was wanting was if it meant Hayward would stay. So, assuming this means Hill leaves, we really would have to know what impact this has on Hayward in order to know whether it was a good move. Frankly, I don't think the Jazz are contending switching out Hayward/Hill with Rubio/Mitchell. But pairing Rubio and Hayward would be amazing.

That was back at the contract extension talks when they thought there would be a bigger FA PG market. So many PG's have changed teams it shrunk it a lot.

Rubio fits perfectly next to Hayward and Hill in Quin's pick and roll dominant system. There doesn't have to be any minutes lost for Hill or Rubio.

Hill can guard the 2. Check.
Jazz can play 4 play makers in Hill, Hayward, Rubio, Ingles/JJ/Diaw. Check
Bench is thicker. Check.
Exum gets more time to lose the acne. Check.
Jazz gained a trade chip and more flexibility. Check.
Signing Hill would create plenty of future trade opportunities with the luxury of Hill/Neto/Exum. Check.

A draft pick protected in the top 14 that may never come to fruition for Rubio is nothing short of a steal.

I change my take on Hayward staying from 75/25 to 40/60. If he leaves this is on Lindsey.

Let's not start with the overreactions. Word around the league is that OKC isn't going to risk losing Westbrook for nothing, and will trade him without an extension.

This move could just be DL trying to get some value for that pick in case it turns to trash.

Opposite. It significantly lowers it. It now makes sense why the reports of Teo to the Bulls were happening. Jazz probably informed him they were either getting Rubio or Hill and not to wait for them.
