Rubio traded to Jazz

Sorry, Saint Cy of JFC, I'm talking about Rubio vs. Hill. I now realize you're probably talking about Rubio vs. neither Rubio nor Hill.

Yeah. I looked at Teo as only being a real possibility if we struck out on trade targets and Hill.

I guess it is more likely with Rubio to sign Teo than it is with Hill to sign Teo.

I disagree. Rubio is much lower priced and not as good as Hill.

The only edge Hill has is shooting. Rubio is 10x better passer and their defense is on par. I think with pick and roll heavy offence Rubio will shine and will make Gobert into All-Star easily. I expect big jump in Gobert's offensive numbers with Rubio running the point. Dude is flat out one of the best passers out of pick an roll in NBA.

I like the trade. If Rubio was a better shooter he'd be a complete player - an all-star - and we wouldn't have gotten him for a 1st that isn't even a lottery pick. Now Rubio is our best defending PG in years and has more assists than any Jazz PG since D-Will.

Plus we used the expiring cap space. Now if Hill is still interested in signing the Jazz aren't so desperate for a PG which gives us bargaining leverage, especially if other teams offer him less.

For all we know, DL has a destination for Favors and/or Burks and the Jazz will be able to re-sign Hill, Hayard and perhaps Ingles and maybe a PF.

Too many people are making the assumption that a resigned Hill guarantees a Hayward return and the general fallacy of having 70% of your cap devoted to Hill, Hayward, and Gobert.
