I was just about to start a thread asking this same question. I don’t want to overreact to one game, but there are several reasons to think the ball movement and defense would be improved with Gay in the starting group. Without sacrificing any spacing.Remind me again why we need Bojan more than a lower usage perimeter defender?
I don't think Gay, at this point of his career, can play regular starter minutes. I do think he should be in the closing lineup in place of Bogey.I was just about to start a thread asking this same question. I’ve advocated for moving Bojan to the bench before, so this isn’t a one-game overreaction as far as that goes.
Maybe we make this change on game1 of the playoffs?
I didn’t say he would play starting minutes, but I understand why you concluded that from my (incomplete) comment.I don't think Gay, at this point of his career, can play regular starter minutes. I do think he should be in the closing lineup in place of Bogey.
This post confused me because I believe we have a couple guys shooting 24/18/6.I would be happy with a 24/18/6 split at the big wing (formerly PF) spot, with the 24/18 part being either bogey or gay, riding the hot hand, matchups, etc, with gay closing most games but probably more on the 18 minute side, with the 6 being random among the other guys as needed. Would be a decent standard. Start bogey, close with gay, ride the hot hand in between. Biggest bang for our buck.
I thought the team as a whole was about there at this point. This post confused me because I believe we have a couple guys shooting 24/18/6.
Even with Gay stepping into the fold, if we’re talking trades, then I still favor trading JC over Bogie.I don't think we rush to trade Bojan. With Rudy Gay the hydra simply grew a new head. I think he looked great last night... can tell he is a tad heavier than he probably wants to be and doesn't have his full legs yet. He was still really effective on both sides of the floor.
I wouldn't say trading Bogey is out of the question and I would certainly poke around but I feel like I wouldn't pull the trigger unless the deal was pretty favorable for us.
I’d be very curious with Bojan in a role off the bench where he was given the Clarkson green light.Even with Gay stepping into the fold, if we’re talking trades, then I still favor trading JC over Bogie.
I maybe overrate Bogey, but I feel like he is way underutilized here. He could make a great second scoring option for a team, he is on a reasonable contract, and he is always available. It feels like his trade value should be much higher than it probably actually is. He could be the piece that moves a team from ok to good.I don't think we rush to trade Bojan. Probably the right move. If there is one more move like that it is really tricky. Still could use a 2/3 positional defender that can cover the point guards or shifty types.Even with Gay stepping into the fold, if we’re talking trades, then I still favor trading JC over Bogie.
His light is already pretty green. I just think Bojan gets much more dangerous against bench units (more than if the average player switches from starters to bench units), and his defensive limitations are reduced.I’d be very curious with Bojan in a role off the bench where he was given the Clarkson green light.
I just want him to play more like Kyle Korver and less like Scott Padgett. Eliminate the pump fakes, minimize putting it on the floor, and just let it fly.His light is already pretty green. I mean, Bojan’s game is going to age well.... so it’s just a matter of when he moves to a second unit.
I’m betting Quin feels like that, too. Bogey just has a certain kind of force or rhythm that he has to play with a certain amount of the time, it seems.I just want him to play more like Kyle Korver and less like Scott Padgett.
