What's new

Rumor: Warriors have interest in trading for Ingles if made available by the jazz.

We need to stop kidding ourselves if they offered Moody in a deal for Ingles we’d be stupid not to take it. They won’t so no need to talk about it. It’s definitely just speculation I threw out that exact trade on here yesterday because it works salary wise.

This. I love Ingles but if he’s likely to retire in a year and disappears in the playoffs anyway, why the **** wouldn’t we do this? The obvious answer is it hurts our chances to win it this year. Which is true. So I can’t say it’s a complete no-brainer. But considering our lack of assets, if we could pull this off, and somehow maybe use the TPE mid-year for someone or even sign Nader now, **** man, our roster would really be coming along.

The Nader dream is sadly dead.

So the Paschall dream is dead unless they want Oni or he’s part of a bigger trade.
If I understand it correctly.

I am/was a little worried about a Lebron/Tristan Thompson kind of situation where Don might flex to take care of his boy and/or might be soured if that whole situation didn’t go perfectly. In other words, I think it makes that whole situation potentially more loaded.

Just a thought, though.

Moody is a 3&D guy folks. 6'6" with a 7'0" wingspan. Trading Ingles for Moody means we are getting younger, more athletic, and more defensive minded. He can also shoot the ball. He is exactly the type of player we are looking for.

Young, yes. But we needed bodies who could stay in front of their man but still shoot the ball. Moody is that.

Also, Paschall is the prototypical stretch 4 in today's NBA. He didn't have a great season last year because he had to share too many minutes with Wiseman. He is friends with Spida which is a plus. He is a young PJ Tucker lite.

Looney gives us competition for backup center with Doka and he is a more mobile 5 to play small ball.

If we got all 3 for Ingles AND saved $$$, I would think that was a pretty good trade. We get deeper and more flexible and handling small ball and a little more defensive minded.

I am a HUGE Ingles fan and I would, reluctantly, do this trade.

The thing is, I would expect GSW front office to laugh hysterically if the Jazz suggest Joe for those three guys. I don't see a trade happening here at all. They can choose between a deal we really like and they hate and one they really like and we hate.

Yes, there’s no real debate it’s a lopsided trade in our favor over the long haul for sure.

Warriors would have to be pretty sold on Ingles signing another deal with them to do that deal. That’s a **** ton to give up for a one-year rental.

The reason for optimism in this dynamic is that the Jazz are the ones not in a hurry to grab win-now pieces. They’re in the driver’s seat in that regard, as I see it.

They’d be doing it for the same reason I’m reluctant; Having Joe vs not could swing a finals trip. I think the west is pretty wide open.
