Yes, please explain. Did you watch the summer games? Hayward had that shot a few times.
You could argue Babbitt is a better prospect. Some on this board were pushing hard for Luke. He's an inch taller and 15 lbs pounds heavier, a true SF prospect. I think what it probably came down to is KOC saw Hayward as a guy who might be able to play SG as well as SF. If that proves to be true, you create a tremendous mismatch at the 2. How many teams can match up with a 6'8" guard? I think "Flash" will have no problem in terms of ballhandling and increasing his range a few feet. What it will come down to is defense. Can he stay in front of opposing 2's?
I'll bet Hayward, Babbitt and George were all ranked pretty closely, along with half a dozen others. I expect Babbitt might get the same amount of playing time as Hayward as a rookie. Guess we'll know in the next couple of years who the better pick ends up being.
The 13/4/2 prediction and the 20-minute prediction were two separate thoughts, I think. Rookie year: 20 minutes per game. At his best (career-wise): 13/4/2.
I think they chose Hayward over Babbit because they see Hayward has "it". He just has a better feel for the game and is more clutch. They also wanted another player who could handle the ball and make plays.
Babbit has a very good feel for the game. Hayward played in a small college and needs to add alot of weight. He will just be a b ench player his whole nba career while babbit will at very least be a serviceable starter

And Nevada is a big college?[/QUO
Exactly! Seriously, what is the point of this guy arguing if he has no point to make?
By the way I am re-watching the first game right now. And guess what, its not getting better. Time after time the announcers questions why Hayward is not shooting more and why he is not even in the game. I'm not talking about forcing shots, I'm talking about taking good shots or driving to the hole. 22 shots the enitre summer league. Basically he shot when he was completely wide open. I do agree that Gaines was pounding the rock way too much, but Hayward was not great. In the Indiana game he could not guard anyone. It was almost Boozer like.
If you take away Sanders first game the rest of the summer league was outstanding. Getting big Al did not remove the need for a big, shot blocker in the middle. Sanders is going to be a better player in this league than Hayward. I truly do hope that I'm proven wrong.
The one thing I like about GH is he played quite efficiently in Orlando, overall. It will be interesting to see what happens when he has the all-stars passing him the ball. I was pissed when we drafted him, but hope the guy proves me and a majority of this board wrong...
