Sauces

My favorite chipotle sauce, bar none, is Subway. They need to sell that stuff. I always ask for a side cup. I don’t alway eat at Subway, but when I do, I get a footling steak and cheese on wheat, pepper jack, toasted, lettuce, tomato, onion, spinach, green peppers, jalapeños, banana peppers, and LOTS of chipotle sauce.

Taco Bell’s lava sauce was badass, too, but those MFers create and disband stuff like nobody’s business. 90% of their menu changes are different ways of arranging their “just add water” contents, but occasionally they get something new and cool like the lava sauce... and then it’s gone.

Speaking of Taco Bell, did anyone ever eat the grilled stuft burrito? Not the ****** one they have now, but the original that they had from like 2000-2008. Sometime about ten years ago they created the XXL Grilled Stuft Burrito which translated to more sour cream and ****** just-add-water guacamole, and they took out a bunch of meat. It does not taste the same at all. Damnit I miss that burrito. **** Taco Bell.

Firstly, I grabbing love the Southwest Chipotle sauce at Subway too. And my favorite Subway sandwich is also the steak and cheese on wheat with pepper jack toasted. I like mine with lettuce, jalepenos, green peppers, and parmesan sprinkled on. Due to price I often get the meatball sub from Subway cause I love it too but the steak and cheese is my favorite and love that Southwest sauce too.

I know the grilled stuffed burrito you speak of and feel the same way

Those Banquet TV snacks are awesome. I even like the nasty potatoes and the corn isnt bad even though it always overlooks down to almost a dried popcorn kernel. Love scraping the hard bbq sauce off the film and putting it on top of the mashed. That said, 370 calories is nowhere close enough to satisfy. I'd have to eat 4 of them to feel full.

Agreed that they don't fill me up. And ya, I actually really like the corn. I think the potatoes suck but I always mix in some of the sauce or gravy from the meat with the potatoes and then I like em
Only thing I don't like is the applesauce dessert stuff that is in some of them.

I like their tuna sandwich best. I also get spicy italian every now and again. Don't understand the hate for Subdway. Sometimes I want a sandwich with a lot of veggies.
Plus I like their frequent flyer type thing they have with their card and points. I like getting a free sandwich every now and then.

That said, I have stories about them exploding and people going to the hospital with third degree burns as well, and a bunch of these stud chefs on Top Chef always seem to struggle using one which scares me.

The new ones are much safer than 1950's style ones, with backup/blowout valve(s). Ours has a second release that is nothing more than a floating peg with a rubber seal on the inside side. When the pressure builds it pushes the seal up to the lid. I could push the peg down with a hole punch if the primary valve got plugged (because I was too dumb to clean it out). There's another plug that looks like a blowout valve.

They dont get up to very high pressure, something like 2 ATM. Besides, even at much, much higher pressure necessary for a true explosion, the lid seal would likely fail before a real explosion happened.

The top chef show contestants burning themselves is probably from the time constraint they always put on them and not wanting to wait for the steam to release fully.

If I had a stuck cooker valve I'd unplug it and let it cool off.

You ever had the steak and cheese, or are you eating stuff like the turkey?

I’ll never eat there again. Went in once about eight years ago. Roast beef had a greenish shimmer to it. So did another meat.

Never again. I’d rather pay the $8-9 for unbelievable, high quality sandwiches at this place by my house, or get Jersey Mike’s, or any other hoagie place for that matter.

Dont you guys have delis or hoagie places out there where you can get a legit half sub at maybe a $1 more than Subway? One that has legit cold cuts and bread? Or get a whole for like $7-11 and eat a half a day.

I'm a helluva a cook. Probably 6 nights per week. I HATE it when my wife wants to cook because she can't and I have to pretend I love it because she has my dick in a mason jar in her nightstand next to the bed and I like to borrow it on occasion.

Not really. There’s this badass place in Sandy called the Philadelphian. I probably eat there every month or so. Dirty as hell. Tasty AF.

But they’re hot. I’m really not a huge cold sandwich guy, which I could understand why you don’t like Subway if that’s what you’re getting. Never cared to try Subway until I was 19 and finally got a hot sandwich.

Not within a quarter mile of my house
