What's new

Seriously? No thread on the Iowa caucuses yet?

I take it you're one of those "Call of Duty" fans.

Simply stupid and irrelevant comment. Enjoying a shooting game or not enjoying it have no bearing on the current discussion. Stop deflecting from the fact that you are incapable of accepting different views from your own.

Actually I thought it was a pretty funny comment, and pretty accurate as well.
I'm definitely not deflecting the discussion, and I love hear other peoples views.

If that is the case then you need to rethink the overall tone of your posts. You come off as aggressive and attacking. If it was meant as humor then I will admit I totally missed the boat there lol. As for accurate it is but not in the way you think. I like the game because it is fun. However that has no bearing on this disussion anymore than if I like cheese does.

Ok then sorry man lol.
Sometimes my post are a little aggressive sounding, especially when politics are involved.
The reason I think games like those have a bearing on the conversation, is because of the content they put into the story lines.
The United States claimes they've never engaged in a false flag terror attack, yet in the game they do just that.
Now some people will say it's just a game, but what I say is it's a reflection on what American society has become.... complete warmongers.

If I was a militiaman killing US army personel, a soviet spy killing British federal employees, a zombie eating school children or any other such scenario I would like it as much if it had the same gameplay style as Call of Duty.

Edit: I will agree that the American culture has become very warlike unfortunatly. I was for Afghanistan but against Iraq, Libya, the service detachment to Africa... Sometimes action is needed but not for everything.

Do you really lack the ability to segregate time periods or draw meaningful conclusions from sentiment measures?
I fail to see how Reagan to Bush 1 to Clinton is terribly different than Clinton to Bush, especially when considering American relations with Iraq, which is what you were responding to in the first place. It's as if the Iran-Iraq War (and Iran Contra) and the Gulf War never happened in the first place.

Seriously?
How can you possibly be FOR action in Libya?
Any war that isn't declared by the congress through the people's represetatives is unconstitutional.

Read it again. I said "...for Afghanistan but AGAINST Iraq, Libya, the service detachment to Africa..."

Oh my bad, that was misread.
I think we were all for Afghanistan at the time, because we were dooped by the administration.
Interestingly enough, Ron Paul was not dooped and voted against it.

I was never for Afghanistan. Afghanistan is not a country. There is no centralized government, no control. It's a bunch of tribes. Russia tried to fix it as did GB. It's Vietnam all over again. What a waste of time and money.

So you're telling me that right after 9/11, when all the shock hit everyone. You weren't pissed, and ready for our country to run into these wars??
If not, then you were smarter than most.
Me... I was only 15 at the time, so I obviously didn't get it.
