I really don't care much for this discussion, however, being a member of this religion I'm not sure where you're getting your information from. Whether you're unable to have kids or have 100 kids, this doesn't effect your salvation at all.
If you find members of this religion having too many offspring, then one should probably look at the sexual habits of the couple rather than blame it on some made up doctrine.

Unfortunately, too many members make up their own crap and too many observers believe it as doctrine. Examples: Mormons can't drink coke, Mormons can't watch tv on Sundays, Mormons have too many kids because it's a commandment.

I'll be the first one to admit I may be wrong. There's a TON of misinformation out there about religions, especially the Mormon church.

That said, it still doesn't change the fact that the majority of those who support Prop 8 are doing so out of morals thrust upon them by their religion. Not just Mormons, of course. Many sects of Christianity have had a long-standing "war" on homosexuality.
 
I grew up Catholic and the families at my parish had just as many kids as the Mormon ones in my neighborhood. The Mormon kids just had much dumber names.

Difficult to argue with this.

This whole subject is a tough one. I tend to be on a teeter-totter. Depending on the day I can lean more in one direction than the other.

To me, eventually I think homosexuals will have their way. I'm heterosexual and will hopefully one day meet a great woman who will accept me for her husband. I'll live to the best of my own standards and religious beliefs. Whether gay marriage is legalized in my lifetime or not, it doesn't matter. I'll live life how I want to. Religions might need to realize that they might want to focus on the teaching and building up of their own members than trying to mold the world in their image.
 
How can 1 judge over rule 7 million or so votes? (that number could be wrong, it's just from memory.) What ever happened to democracy?

Yeah I know (in fact it should be considered to expand "biology" to "the entire body of science thus accrued by man," but I digress). It was the altruist in me trying to help him/her learn.

We're a constitutional republic.

Pure democracy is two wolves and a chicken voting on what to have for dinner.

That's my problem. Why have something to vote for, and have 7 million people vote for it, only to have a judge say that they were "ill advised" and the bill was "unconstitutional". If he can say that now, why didn't someone say it BEFORE and not let people vote in the first place? I mean, it just makes everything look dumb.

Because courts generally don't issue advisory opinions.
