Some Musings on the Jazzfanz of Yore

I fear the only thing that can save this place is a 35 win season.

The board has never been better than it was when we went 26-56. I still remember the epic thread detailing how many times we would have to win in a row to get to .500 and all the debate about whether or not it was possible.

I see it as a sign of intelligence. My AP composition teacher would have lauded such efforts... analyzing the figures of speech and specific articulations of some posters style and their overall method, and how convincing they are using their individual style.

So you graduated from high school then?

Graduatin high school aint nuthin. My own damn self, I never got outta the therd grade, but I spends 7 years there, and learned it all real good. The onliest reason I kept flunkin was dat the teacha, Mizz Sterling, didn't like my ***, just because I was always tryin to coppa feel offa her.

Yup I even made it into college... I mean its a technical school... but when I think about how big a disappointment my life is. I think
"At least I'm not short like Viny"

Auld Lang Syne.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I joined after Hand-Lotion and LTV had left the board, but the rest seems like yesterday. We all definitely had some different ideas on rebuilding the Jazz after the 26-56. I suggested drafting Marvin Williams and solving our PG woes by signing that up-and-coming PG who had just completed a pretty solid season with Charlotte. Yikes!

Coach was definitely my favorite poster. And for the life of me, I can't remember who started that trade rumor either. Wasn't it supposedly overheard in the parking lot of Best Buy and the Jazz would have received Caron Butler and Chucky Atkins?

And tater...well, how many times have you left just to come back again? Three or four?

From 2004 to 2006 this board was awesome. LTV was hilarious, Coach was epic.......I even miss Saxon from the really early days.

Saxon was one of the few from before my times--I'm guessing he was RealGM and earlier--but I always liked the guy. If he was your first major troll, I think it shows how far trolling has come in the past decade.

Yes Saxon was before this board, I think he had less than 500 posts on the old Jazzfanz board which is saying something for him because he could amass that many in a day. He was my first troll and what a perfect sterotype. Unemployed, living in his mother's basement, his big accomplishment was walking a mile to 2 a day. He was so much better and more comical than the current variety.
