My current cure when someone comes to tattle (the favorite past time of my 9 year old) for something stupid and minor is “handle it yourself”).

Does anyone have any experience with traditional grass lawn alternatives? I've been thinking about micro clover

or thyme. It is green most of the year but blooms for a few weeks in the spring

Cause you do it yourself? I hire TruGreen and they shoot ir full of cancer causing lawn steroids. Yes!!!

You never been to my house doe. I have great coverage with my sprinkling system (basically ever part of my yards are double or even triple covered) and I have each station watering for 45 minutes straight every 3rd night.
I lack shade which has a big effect. Some parts of my lawn grow really fast and other parts very slow. Even in my own yard there are different parts that grow differently. Lol at you thinking that you know how often everyone else's lawns need to be mowed when they differentiate so much that in fact the same lawn in the same property needs to be mowed differing frequencies.

Please try to actually read what I say, and not add things.

I am saying if you can get away with mowing your yard every other week, you are doing something wrong with your lawn maintenance. I'm not telling you how often to mow. There is a difference there.

And yes, I realize Utah has parts considered desert. SLC and the surrounding area get more annual rainfall than where I do. I understand a touch about hot and dry weather. Shade, obviously, makes a big difference.

Now you might be watering for 45 minutes a day, but do you know how much water you're putting on total? That's what matters, not the time. It's the amount.

Without seeing a lawn, I can't say whether it's nutrient deficient, water issue, variety issue, or a combination...but I do know that if you can get away with mowing every other week, there is something wrong. Take it from a professional. Grass grows incredibly easy, and is very tough stuff. It'll put up with a lot.
 
Yeah I did mine myself the first year I moved here. Never again. **** gets way too expensive. Time consuming. Probably buying low to medium grade **** and don’t even know it.

Now I love my yard.
 
Pretty sure I only signed up for Tru-Green like six years ago because some cute *** 22 year old from Utah (who’s a Lakers fan) came to my door with her sales pitch. Not kidding.
