What's new

Stupid Pet Peeves

this is why. My wife was in a similar situation and the guy she was helping tried to help himself to her. I told her never should she do anything like that if it’s a guy by himself.

that lady doesn’t know you, therefore shouldn’t trust you. You know nothing about this lady, and called her a bitch for protecting herself. It is never a good idea for a lady by herself to get in this kind of situation with a man she doesn’t know, weather in a dark ally or busy parking lot.
Context. There’s no further point in discussing the issue if you weren’t there yourself. Again the cart girl that worked there and the guy that helped me also thought it was ridiculous. Calling her a bitch without knowing her personally or her background might have been too harsh so I do take that back. Heat of the moment..

General rule. Female by herself shouldn’t put herself in a position to help. Man by himself s safety you saw she looked well off and wouldn’t help so she must be a bitch

I went to the pool today to swim laps and heard the lifeguard yell at a family that they are not allowed to hold their breath underwater. I asked the lifeguard about it and he pointed to a few signs on the wall that sure enough said no holding your breath underwater.

I guess some dumbass was doing some breathing exercises at the pool seeing how long he could stay under and he drowned. I call that natural selection. Shouldn't ruin swimming for everyone else.

So I guess it's okay To breathe underwater then?

Had a big night on the brew last night, topped it off with an argument with my ex. Missed the train to work and i feel like death. Gonna be a real long day.

I can’t imagine someone died doing that. I’ve held mine for as long as 1:15 (solid but nothing special) but when I do it I just lay limp and relaxed in the pool, near the bottom of the shallow end. I could see a lifeguard thinking I drowned and diving in to “save me.” And it’s a waste of their time and concerns.

Last summer I swam about 150 feet under water. Was pretty awesome. Maybe more like 130. Tough to know exactly unless I busted a tape measure out.

I love swimming and spend as much time under the water as above water. I go to this pool at least once a week in winter and even more in summer and am always laying on the bottom and whatever and never had any one say anything so maybe this is the only lifeguard that actually enforces the rule.
So lame. Hard to have fun at the pool if you aren't allowed to spend extended periods of time under the surface.

I saw a snorkel guide in Cozumel Mexico stay under water for probably 10 minutes. He was down for about 5 minutes swimming around and lifting up rocks and **** and then he had some tube that he had captured a small air pocket with and he breathed that in and then stayed down like another 5 minutes.
I was amazed. Great snorkeling too.
