Rumor-mongering at work. Holy **** it is getting old all the rumors that start and spread at work. Recently we hired a temp supervisor to help us out while we tried to fill the open supe position. Within 3 days I had 4 people in my office at different time, 2 of them in honest to goodness tears, asking why I would betray them by bringing in a temp who was going to hire all of his friends and fire all of our employees as his buddies took all of our higher level hourly positions, like clerk, lead, IT tech, etc. I asked them if any of them had asked me or another manager if that were going to happen, they just said "no, I just figured". I mean wow, managing adults is not much different from managing jr. high schoolers.
Turns out the new temp supe just in passing mentioned that he knew someone from his previous place of employment who had used our warehouse management system before and he might encourage them to apply since he thought this was a nice place to work. That turned into he was head-hunting and preparing to fire everyone to bring in his buddies. What a colossal waste of time and energy for a bunch of so-called "adults" to engage in.
