That happens here on Trax. People don't get that it will be easier to get on the train if they let people exit first.

Speaking on the topic of Trax, I hate it when people hold the door for someone for more than just a brief moment. This morning, somebody on the train saw a woman approaching the train and held the door for a couple of minutes while the woman bought a ticket. Then after the train operator asked whoever was holding the door to let it close, the woman told the person holding the door that she was going the opposite direction anyway and had to wait for another train.

The first sentence is a pet peeve because even though you think you're being nice to one person (and hey, you are) you're offsetting that by making more people late.

People add apostrophes to words when none are needed.

I read this as hyphenate word's for some reason. I do it on purpose because its a non-issue.

Try riding the a.m. when the MTC sends a hoard of missionaries off to the airport. I think they stopped doing it because those kids are too dumb to figure things out. They offload the train fine enough, but boarding Trax they cannot figure out how to move into the seats and get the hell out of the way. They pile their luggage and bodies up in front of all the doors and block everyone from entering or exiting. People miss their stops, but then again they were too stupid to anticipate the obstacle.


But it's not a pet peeve of mine. I get a kick out of train stupidity. You should have seen the freak out when the train ran somebody over a month back and they had to bus bridge us between 2 stops. The conductor explained it half a dozen times at least and there were UTA workers yelling to the crowd at the end of the bus bridge that a train would be coming from the South and head back South from there. It was still sheer panic for many to figure out which way it was going.

My UTA pet peeve is the dumb *** train cops who write citations for Ordinance Chapter 2, Section 3.b because I didn't tap my annual pass even though it's not required:

No person shall:

A. Occupy, ride or use any Transit Vehicle without paying the applicable fare or possessing valid Proof of Fare Payment.

B. Enter or exit a Transit Vehicle that utilizes prepaid tickets or occupying a Rail Platform upon disembarking a Transit Vehicle without paying the applicable fare or possessing valid Proof of Fare Payment.




“Proof of Fare Payment” means a valid bus transfer, TRAX ticket, FrontRunner ticket or other fare media issued by UTA and used within the date and time designated on such transfer, ticket, or card. “Proof of Fare Payment” also includes any valid annual, seasonal, monthly, Eco Pass, Ed Pass (when accompanied by school identification), Med Pass or other passes. “Proof of Fare Payment” also includes in the context of UTA’s Electronic Fare Collection (“EFC”) a positive signal representing fare payment by an EFC reader device to scan a contactless credit or debit card or other EFC fare media, when in the use of a Transit Police Officer, or other Authorized UTA Representative to inspect fare payment.

I hate it when guys spit on the ground, that's why I don't watch baseball.

Seeing people spit is my least favorite thing about watching baseball.

My mom was crazy about how bad she hated it when people would spit. She drilled into me pretty hard about basically never spitting ever for any reason and especially not in front of a female.

I know, right? THe goal of driving up an onramp is to be moving at freeway speeds BEFORE you merge onto the freeway. Let's get it done people.

Pretty sure what Red is talking about is having a slow *** or a line of them in front of you and the dick behind you thinking he can merge early and cut you off from merging. It's as jackass a move as being from Idaho and getting a driver's license.
