I like your style. I generally just go close to my daughter and meanly ask if she wants a smack on her tookus? She stops about 40% of the time, cries in response to the meanness 40% of the time, and continues her nonsense the other 20%. So I feel like I win 80% of the time. Winning!
Every child is different. I try to raise mine according to their personality and needs. Some get more tough love than others.
This is a good oneThose sticky labels on the edges of CD cases (inside the shrink wrap) that you have to get off before you can open the case, and which always tear apart as you try to remove them.
That reminds me--pet peeve: people who repeatedly tell their kids "stop it or [insert threat here]", but then who don't follow up with any consequences when the kids continue to act up. (Unless the threat was clearly made only for humorous purposes, something we ourselves have found to be pretty effective.)
