And what about victims of false accusations? Haven't seen any hint, not one, of this concern from you guys lol seems partisan does it not?

I'm curious. What part of trauma informed care is challenging the victims' statements? How was that covered in your training? "I'm sorry miss, but I'll have to withhold judgement until I see proof of your allegations?" Something like that?

My friends wife was abused by her father as a child, but she apparently completely put it out of her mind to the point she forgot it ever happened, had a great relationship with him as far as I could see and my friend went into marriage counseling, and I guess something triggered her memories of her dad abusing her, it caused her to have a complete breakdown and had to be hospitalized and everything, so I am not shocked there are details that she can’t remember.

That sucks man. The scary thing is the estimate is that 25-30% of women will be assaulted/abused sometime in their lifetime. As the father of three girls, I can unfortunately confirm our experience bears this out. I wish your friend and his wife, peace. This is probably triggering for all victims of sexual abuse.

Well, she stated in her testimony that she reached out to Anna Eshoo's office when she saw Kavanaugh was on a short list of nominees to the SC. She was trying to alert Diane Feinstein through Eshoo's office in order to speak out against his nomination. That's not to say it's wrong, but the timing of her accusation coincided with his being nominated. She could have brought this up a long time ago when he was appointed to the Court of Appeals in DC. But for some reason, the SC nomination was what motivated her.

I agree it could be a personal motive...but not necessarily vindictive. If the character of the SC is important, and the guy who tried to rape you was a nominee, you might very well think it would be your civic duty to share that information without regard to party politics.

From his opening statement:

"This whole two-week effort has been a calculated and orchestrated political hit, fueled with apparent pent-up anger about president trump and the 2016 election, fear that has been unfairly stoked about my judicial record. Revenge on behalf of the Clintons and millions of dollars in money from outside left-wing opposition groups. This is a circus. The consequences will extend long past my nomination. The consequences will be with us for decades."

And this is the degree of partisanship and conspiracy thinking Bret Kavanaugh will bring to the SCOTUS for how many decades?

Quick yes or no question.

If kavanaugh had displayed this type of tone in any job interview would you hire him?

Yelling, demeaning, and dodging questions about sexual assault gets you a Supreme Court job? What are we teaching young people?

From Washington Post:

"The worst moment was his confrontation with Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) who questioned him about blackout drinking. She explained that she understood alcohol abuse because her father was an alcoholic. Have you ever blacked out? she asked. He sneered in response, “Have you?” It was a moment of singular cruelty and disrespect. One saw a flash in the exchange with Klobuchar the same sense of entitlement, cruelty and lack of simple decency that Christine Blasey Ford allegedly experienced way back when, the memory seared in her brain of two obnoxious teens laughing at her ordeal.

After the break, no doubt advised by a White House minder, he apologized. But the damage was done. The spontaneous reaction was the real one."

He will be expected to recuse himself from every single case involving one or the other political party (lol right). Just for the sake of the institution he must not be confirmed.

Man, the media are more divided on this than on the Presidential election. The discourse is all over the map. Though I have to agree that Mark Judge is an important witness in all this. He's the only named witness.

Anyone know why Dr. Ford hasn't already brought a Civil action against Kavanaugh? I know the burden of proof is much lower than a criminal proceeding is it not?
