The Inevitable Favs Reunion

Besides shot-blocking... what things exactly? On everything else, I honestly think Morgan has an edge if he gets a chance to develop. He's certainly a better three-point shooter.
I watched nearly every game he had in the G-League. He plays more like Boris Diaw than Favors. He just isnt aggressive enough or athletic enough to overcome his size to be a center in the NBA. I was hopeful for him, but it just didnt look good. I dont think it's a reps thing either.

Even when he played in the Denver series, he didnt look good enough on switches (he was giving up more space to Jamal Murray than Rudy Gobert was).

I think he is strictly an energy 4 who makes the right play. His swing skill is going to be 3pt shooting, which we will see if that develops. He shot it in the G-League well but looked pretty trash in the Denver series.

Morgan's best bet is to be a %35-36 3 point shooter and be an defensive alternative to Niang.

We could have gotten Gasol for 2 years and $5 million instead of Favors at 3 years and $29 million

I don't know that we could have. Anyone that signs cheap with the Lakers likely had other options and choose LA and Lebron.

BUT... yeah... we could have signed "backup center X" for the minimum and been in a much better place.

DL is gone and I have placed my trust and heart in JZ for the moment. This deal is part of the reason DL is a "consultant".

Any chance we could trade for Gasol? I think he'd be good in a small role off the bench if you're looking to have a vet. Quin would probably default to that, though. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad, though. We could use that one exception that's set to expire to take him.

I would love it but since he's one of four players on a guaranteed contract, I think they will be more than pleased to keep him. Especially since they got to see how their poo-poo platter of big men were after sitting Gasol and they were all worse than him (had better numbers, are bad at playing winning basketball which Marc is an expert at). They also DESPERATELY need spacing wherever they can get it, but doubly so from a forward or center.
