Another sleeper is Golden State. Warriors fans like him. Warriors need a back-up PF/C and aren't thrilled with Speights or Lee.

Lots of teams could see Enes as an ideal 3rd big and starter depending on rotations and injuries.

Sacramento isn't psyched about Jason Thompson anymore. There's the Ty Corbin connection.

Warriors and Kings don't have the caproom to offer anything that the Jazz wouldn't immediately match. I don't think Detroit has much room to spare either. . .
 
Additionally, I don't think we have to worry about any team that wants to make Enes their third big. You Don't pay a 3rd big 14 million or more unless he is a vet with winning playoff experience. What you are worried about is a team viewing Kanter like we did Memo when he was available, a starter that will soon live up to his potential. There really aren't any teams that have a need to do that with Enes that also have enough caproom to price the Jazz out. The Jazz will match a third big contract faster than it is signed and most the other teams know it.

I don't understand what fans expect to happen in these situations. Posts like this reek of unrealistic expectations. There is very little room for error when trying to negotiate an extension that is good for the team, while also making the player happy enough to accept. People gripe about what happened with Gordo, but the Jazz played that exactly the way they should have. It's not like they bet against Gordo and were proven wrong. Hayward had a pretty mediocre season and still got a big offer due to ideal circumstances. All things being even, you have to play the odds in situations like that, and if you end up losing out with the odds in your favor, that doesn't mean you change the way you do things. You continue to play the odds even though you're not going to win every time.

These are the same people who drive five miles out of their way to go to the gas station that is 5 cents cheaper that think players will be falling all over themselves to leave millions on the table. Yeah, they may have millions, but an extra million is still a million and you will likely be retired WAAYYY before 40.
 
No team is going to give us a young guard/wing who can shoot and defend for Enes. Noone is giving us a good draft pick either. At the most we`re getting a serviceable veteran and/or an expiring pluss a late 1st rounder. We don`t need any more late picks so I guess this all comes down to whether you think keeping Enes is bad for the team or not. I think it is way too early to give up on him and unless he gets an insane offer this off season, I hope we`re keeping him around.
 
another possibility a small salary dump by another team for kanter dont we have 4mil breathing space?

If it's gonna be a 4 million breathing space for this side, then you are looking for a 1-2 million worth veteran or off the DLeague struggler. Go for the one who can shoot. Anyone can defend up to some level if they are willing to. And for that they need a good coach to kick their ***.

Also is afflalo a nugget currently? That dude seems to bounce around alot considering that he seems to be regarded as a pretty good player.
