The Move Forward Plan - NO TANK DISCUSSION IN THIS THREAD

Lonzo/Carter + 11 for Yurt - 29/32... Saves them a bunch... use Lonzo as salary ballast in a trade if you find a win-now move in season. Or if he's healthy get him on the court.
This except we’re not trading Lonzo. He’s going to be a franchise cornerstone and LaVar’s gonna be autographing boobs at championship parades. Even man boobs are getting the ink so everyone be ready.

Mine are small but flabby. They are ready

Havent really been active here lately, but I appreciate this thread. Tried to start a similar one few weeks ago but I guess it was too early.

I think the FO wants to bring in one clear upgrade who could be a guy like Lavine or Brigdes. Imo the key is they dont want to forfeit too many future picks so they likely try to make the move using salary cap space, current contracts and 2024 picks.

In the big picture the plan is pretty clear. Stay in position (take care of cap, assets and hold on to key players) while improving the overall value of all your assets by making smart business decissions.

Garland may be interesting. But can't pair with Sexton. will it really be an upgrade? This year, lot of FA or potential players to be trade. The choice DA will make will show whcih direction we go. I do hope we make some trade at that point.

Yeah, Garland would be cool, but not a fit with Sexton.

So yeah, if you are going that route, you need to find a suitor for Sexton. If the return is really good I'm not opposed to it even though I'd rather build w/ Sexton in mind as the starting PG.

Sexton vs Garland is a tossup, probably give a slight edge to Garland. But it's certainly not a big enough edge to justify the cost difference. I'd rather roll with Sexton and use the other assets elsewhere.

FA's I have some interest in:

Pat Williams
Issac Okoro
Isaiah Hartenstein
Deanthony Melton
Jalen Smith
Obi Toppin
Dario Saric
Dennis Smith Jr

Depending on price... Gary Trent and Naji Marshall are a couple guys I'd add.

Just trade up for Rob Dillingham if you want Darius Garland. Cost will be massively cheaper and his contract will be too.

Before we had traded for Collins, I thought Trent was an interesting FA last season. It surprised me that he picked up his PO, I would have given him the Bruce Brown 1+Team option deal. I think he's kind of fallen off despite having a good shooting season. The league is so good at offense these days that even high volume, efficient 3 point shooters can be inefficient if they don't do anything else.

Naji is more interesting than someone like Caleb Martn IMO. He had a good year. If we have no other use for our cap space, it wouldn't be terrible to give him the 1+TO deal at high money.
