The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

Here is the detail:

Derek Bodner of PHLY Sports reports (via Twitter) that the 2026 first-round selection the Thunder are trading will include “least favorable” language, meaning it won’t necessarily be the Clippers’ pick that heads to Philadelphia. The Thunder also control their own first-rounder and Houston’s selection (top-four protected) in ’26, so the 76ers would receive the least favorable of those three picks.

So the worst of three picks... Thunder, Clips or Houston for the swap. I like it for OKC, but its still a gamble. LA betting pretty big on 3 dudes that are a long in the tooth. OKC doubling down against that bet.
Betting on themselves as well.

Yeah and I think they will use some of their picks to acquire key rotation pieces but maybe not looking for a star trade. If you are holding many of those picks you want high quality so you build the pipeline behind your current stars. Panning for gold.

That would actually be insane. I would totally watch that. We played that way when I was a kid and just goofing around in the church cultural hall and in practice in high school. It gets chaotic, but it's a lot of fun.
I too have done that and its a blast.

I was really impressed by Fultz last night, I think he's one to watch. Obviously he's not a perfect player, but his defense, athleticism, and passing is really impressive. He's especially good at drop off passes inside the paint. I don't foresee a trade soon because ORL is in a feel good situation, but with his deal expiring + Black waiting in the wings I'm not sure they will make a huge commitment to him long term.

"Some mornings, Markelle Fultz would lie in his bed and just think. Think, think, think. He couldn't help it. The thoughts would swarm his mind as he tried to swat each one away.
Am I ever going to play basketball again?
"I didn't want to wake up, go to workouts," Fultz says. "I just wanted to lie there and sleep."
Sleep would provide a temporary escape from the gnawing reality that he could not lift his arms above his head, he could not shoot jump shots, he could not stop the entire city of Philadelphia from hating him, and he could not for the life of him figure out what was wrong with his shoulder."

Ok now I like it more. That definitely balances out the risk a bit more.

Sounds like he was dealing with depression brought on by the injury. I feel for him. That's tough.

NBA.com finally has some of their second spectrum tracking data up on their website. Wemby currently leads the NBA in fg% against (for those who defend at least 5ga per game). Opponents are shooting 17.9% against him with an expected fg% of 46.4% so a difference of 28.6%.

Pretty insane numbers, although Kris Dunn is right there behind him with opponents shooting only 18.2% vs Dunn.

Does Harden make the clippers worse?
I think so. Now they have 4 guys who really need the ball in their hands to perform at their peak. Which one gets relegated to role player status? On paper they have a ton of fire power. But I think it doesn't mix well.
