He's a late bloomer
sooo many injuries He's looked great for the Mavs the last few games
He's a late bloomer
really weird watching Exum play like a competent NBA player
This was one of the worst game i have seen from Refs..... 40 FT to 20, putting fouls on KAT And Rudy very early in the game which limit them a lot. But i admit Zion look in better hsape tonight and play well.Zion gets called out for being out of shape by his old personal trainer and Shaq after losing in the tournament and goes out angry and gets 36 tonight on 13-17 shooting with 10-12 FT in a big win over Minny.
Please tell me why many teams are guarding Zion on the perimeter like he's Steph Curry? He's taken two 3pt shots in his last five games and made none. He's the ultimate non-shooting ballhandler.
It makes no sense. I'm not saying it's easy to stop Zion in any case, but please for the love of God... just sag off him when he catches it on the arc, sit on his left hand and see what happens. We all know he will go right for a couple of dribbles and then try a hard pivot back to his strong side so he can float up a lefty layup.
You're telling me that's too hard for an NBA team defense to anticipate?
Incidentally, this is exactly how LeBron destroyed Zion recently:

Plus giving Zion 2 step speed and taking a charge from him isnt something most NBA players are willing to do.Because if you let Zion dribble uncontested into the paint it's an and 1 waiting to happen.

I would hope he uses that space to shoot the 3I wanna see you go out there and give Zion that space, and see what you do after he uses it to gather speed and comes charging towards you.
Getting in his grill at the perimeter isn't stopping that. He has an amazing first step for his size and is wide as hell, so once he gets you on his hip, it's over.Because if you let Zion dribble uncontested into the paint it's an and 1 waiting to happen.
Yeah dude, Zion is a ****ing beast.Getting in his grill at the perimeter isn't stopping that. He has an amazing first step for his size and is wide as hell, so once he gets you on his hip, it's over.
Zion just hung 36 points on the Wolves, seemingly with nothing but lefty layups, because they kept guarding him tightly on the perimeter. He went by the first line of defense like it wasn't there.
The Lakers approach in the video I linked above is the only correct one. Sag WAY off, always go under, have another big up top show just enough so Zion can't get that head of steam. Collapse the interior when he does drive and force him to make tough kick out passes.
