The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

I agree. I feel they go all in and have to win now or next year. If Rudy is slowing down and Mike finally reach his age, they may get f... up for many years.
They also don't have the picks, young players, or contracts to really rehaul the roster. And I don't think they have the #2 option needed to win a title

They're kind of approaching the same spot the Jazz were just in when Danny took over

No cap flexibility, no picks, a star guard, and elite defensive big but no way to build around them

For the Jazz though at least we were able to get a haul for Rudy, I think he's basically untradeable now

I think the Wolves will need more from Randle this season. He’ll need an adjustment period, but the Wolves can’t rely on Conley to be an initiator and I think they know that. McDaniels and Gobert are already non-creators so it puts too much pressure on Ant who isn’t necessarily efficient to begin with.

BTW, just watching Gobert and the way he works is incredible. The difference between him and another generic rim runner/protector is insane. I agree with others that he’s not the same athlete, but his effort level is still elite. He makes so many winning plays. Little things like setting good screens, being active on the glass, drawing fouls etc.

I’m not sure that extension will be the best as his athleticism declines….but I get it. He’s a must have for the Wolves.
Randle is such a weird fit there because he can't shoot and for him to be effective you have to take the ball away from Ant. Going to be difficult for them to win consistently when their starters outside of Ant are going 1-11 from 3.

They still had him under contract this year and next year though.

Wild to me Scoot is starting the season on the bench while Sharpe is injured. They really making room for Camara as a starter over Scoot?

It’s easy to forget that the Hornets were a play in team both of Lamelo’a first two seasons. Supporting cast was different, but honestly not that much different.

They are not a bottom feeder if he’s healthy.

If he's healthy healthy (like playing 65+ games) they might be a playoff team, not play-in, especially if they can get Mark Williams playing.
