The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

Man, Buzelis is LEAPS better than Williams. Buzelis had 31 today against the Lakers.... I didn't understand the Williams love in the first place. I watched him in March madness and he looked rough..... it's too bad Buzelis was taken 1 pick later!

Giddey is going for a quadruple double against Luka while blowing out the Lakers in LA.

Wondering what would his extension look like in the summer.

He knocked back an extension at the start of the season i believe, not sure what the numbers were on it. Since the LaVine trade his numbers and play has improved dramatically but so what they're still 30-40? Bulls fans are skeptical as to what his real value looks like, as am I. At a minimum the Bulls front office has a big decision to make.

Look, when you can burn the 10th pick of the draft on someone without a pulse, you do that 8 days a week.

Probably the first time in this regime that they are going to wear a loss of this type. Guy at the same position... in the same draft tier... drafted a pick later. I was neither in or out on Cody and understood what they were going for. Good news is even if he is a total bust we can spend next season trying to force Cody to happen and he either swims or helps sink us... which in reality raises us up through the tank.

Damn, what a depressing scenario.

Unless Cody is a complete @$$, he has to realize that this is a big off season for him. He either becomes an NBA player or has his option declined like JHS. It's up to him.

Agreed. I didn't do too much looking into Cody and @Ferguson_Mellochill got to me with his propaganda, but I can honestly say I'd draft Matas instead with hindsight. I don't think many could say the same with McCain or Wells etc, but Matas was right there.

The jarring thing about the Matas - Cody comparison is not just their production, but the way they look. Matas is just on a different level as an athlete and is wayyyyy ahead skill level wise. It's tough to compare G-League vs NCAA, but is this not something they could have picked up on with their superior resources and access to things like workouts? I don't remember getting Matas in a workout, but surely they've seen him in an empty gym type workout.

They also were not shy about broadcasting that they would have taken Cody higher, was not a Hendricks situation. They will wear this one with shame.

I do think there are some serious red flags for draft evaluators to look past with Cody... like how is he the same weight as Trae Young at the combine? Like his bones hollow? Its a pretty bad miss and if they really would have had him as high as they say they did... doesn't give me a ton of excitement about their evaluations. If that was sales talk then whatevs.

If he wasn't so crucial to the tank I'd say you shut him down now and get him in the weight room like 15+hours a week and eating like 10,000 calories. I don't want them to have the weight crutch for like 4 years before they call it a failure.

If he becomes something it will truly be a 1 of 1 instance at this point. Dante wasn't a ton better but he was better. I can't do another Exum 6 year experiment. Give it 15 months and bounce if he hasn't improved substantially.
