What's new

The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

I think they will have to be really well set up by the time they have like 15 games left, as I could see some wholesale resting of main players for the playoff if they have secured to overall #1 seed by then. Then it might pull them down a bit. But if they choose to keep the pedal to the metal they will very likely smash the record. Crazy effective team. Good shot at being the best team the league has ever seen, at least for one season. I kind of hope they do it. I don't see the same showboating and disrespect I felt from the Warriors and even Bulls teams.
Thing is they have alternated rest or had guys out all season. I think they will be able to win most nights against average and below average NBA teams while resting their guys to save them when they need to.

They've had a little bit of a cupcake schedule so we will see I guess. They are just a machine.

That's not possible for a 19 year old
So the people that didn't think Kon deserved to be a top 5 pick likely won't understand why that type of guy will continue to get better.

He's much closer to Devin Booker than he is Luke Kennard (a comp thrown at me multiple times during my Kon lovefests on here and twitter lol).

Or you can think about it like Jalen Brunson. In college you wouldn't have thought that guy could be as good as he was with the Mavs... with the Mavs you wouldn't think that guy would be as good as he is with the Knicks.

Yep that is the record. That is why I think if they are far enough ahead they will likely rest some guys and could come up a little short. I think 69 wins is most likely at this point, which is nothing to scoff at. I think they would take 69 wins and a ring rather than go all out for 74 wins at the risk of burning themselves out. The 73-9 warriors are a cautionary tale, best record in the regular season, lost in the finals after taking a 3-1 lead. Granted it took a legendary effort from arguably the best player of all time to do it, but still, the risk remains. I could see them coasting the final dozen or so games to be well-rested for the playoffs and getting an extra couple of losses in that mix. But who knows, if they are just comfortably slaughtering everyone without much effort, why let up? What are the fewest losses even possible in the modern NBA? At the current pace they are on track for 75.7 wins, so a record of 76-6 or 75-7. Is it possible to see a team lose only, say 5 games in a season? I would love to see it once, that would be crazy. And yeah, you are right, it will be the most fun story of the season, and maybe the decade or longer, to watch. At the current pace they could "let up" just a little and "coast" to 70 wins. That is wild to think about.
I think they try for 74 wins and a title. I bet they would think it would be pretty cool to be the best team in the history of the world

Crazy that Cam Spencer is exploding at the same time too. The American Whites are on the rise

I can't be held responsible for the takes I will have when we sign Pat Spencer this offseason. We need to get a piece of the Spencer household.

Spencer has been a crazy revelation. Really fun player to watch.

The way he's always in full control really reminds me of Steph. You can't speed him up or give him any space. Plus he seems to create some kind of an advantage every time he puts the ball on the floor.
