Methinks we need another special counsel. Is Pompeo abusing his office to manufacture dirt on political opponents as Rudy is suggesting? And how many more times is Rudy going to be allowed on tv to further indict this administration?

If that’s the best version Barr could come up with then the actual transcript and the entire whistleblower complaint is going to do this to Congress:

I have yet to see you provide any evidence that Hunter Biden didn’t collude with Dick Bavetta to cheat for the Bulls and help them win game 6 against us. In your face, snow flake. /sarcasm
 
The readout is much worse than I figured it would be, which makes me wonder why Trump released it.

He may have believed that because it doesn't include an outright quid pro quo, although it does come close, that it would fall short of people's expectations. I think this was a miscalculation on his part.

He may have been counting on the media to repeat what he said about Biden stopping Ukraine from prosecuting Hunter, without adding that Hunter was never the target of prosecution to begin with. This is think will probably be how that ends up going.

Doesn't seem like that's going to be nearly as helpful to Trump as the first bit will be damaging to him, though.
