The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

I agree with the slippery slope you are pointing out. I disagree with your claim that Trump has been impeached for less than Nixon and Clinton did. In both those cases there was a crime identified in the articles of impeachment. Why was there no crime identified this time? I think it's because they hate him so badly that it doesn't really matter to them if they can prove no specific crime, and they think that if they shout about this loud enough that everyone else will go along with them. I think they are wrong. No doubt that he is an abrasive and confrontational guy, and no question that he fights with guns blazing. I have said often that I wish he behaved differently, but given the history of Republican leadership being mowed over by the Dems strategy of shaming (accusations of racism, sexism, lack of inteligence, etc., etc.) maybe the only way that a conservative can be effective is to plow forward despite it all. In my view Trump has been surprisingly effective at implementing his agenda. I don't know how he has accomplished anything in this environment.

It is surprising he has gotten anything done. The same could be said about Obama, and probably about whoever comes after Trump. The country is so divided, and our politicians have lost their minds.

I'm cool with agreeing to disagree about the severity of Trump's wrongdoings vs. those of Nixon and Clinton. Abuse of power and obstruction of Congress are the charges, and obviously those of us who feel like they are justified and 'real' also believe they're irrefutable. I get that you and those supporting Trump don't believe they're credible. We'll see how things pan out.

I think the sarcasm and the point I was trying to make may also have been missed.

I was saying that the some Republicans defend their guy by saying he isn't as bad as HRC or Obama, both of whom they consider to be evil incompetent socialists. They may as well be saying he is better than Stalin.

I wasn't saying that Trump equals Stalin. Stalin had a mustache.

And yes, I am about as far from a Dem as you can imagine. I'm a fiscal conservative who supported McCain, likes Romney, voted for Reagan, Bush 1, Bush 2 (once), etc. Then the Republicans lost their mind and their soul.
That’s quite a poor roster. The **** we’ve been offered to chose from the past elections, ugh

I bet most of you loved it when Trump was blamed for the problems in Puerto Rico. It turns out he was right for calling out the corrupt politicians...
