The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

Trump and Russia(you guys)- " this is rigged, this is bad, I'm crying over a conspiracy!!! 3 year investigation!!"

DNC and Bernie 2015- "let's sweep this rigging under the rug, we are ok with the DNC 100% rigging"

DNC and Bernie 2019-
Main stream media and the DNC- "hey idiots we are blatantly, right in front of your face, openly rigging this election again. Look over there though sheep, Trump said something we're going to take out of context."

You guy(robotic voice)- "yes master... rigging is fine... we love rigging... Trump bad... Master good"

how’s the weather in Oz?

It was immediately clear what EVERYONE “interpreted” his words to mean. And I say “interpreted” in quotes because everyone thought the words meant exactly what they clearly and literally meant.

Particularly notable is the fact that he chose to not clarify to the senate. He clarified to Fox News in an attempt to redeem his reputation, after being called out by knowledgeable and rational people across the political spectrum including constitutional experts.

yet here you are believing hannity.
This.

Trumpers do the same thing with Trump. Trump will literally say something that he obviously means, will get criticized for it, and then Trumpers will be like oh it was out of context or he didn't really mean it.

Trumpers ability to excuse bad behavior is probably the thing they are best at

I am believing Dershowitz because his explanation makes perfect sense. It is ridiculous that you are so determined to hold him to an interpretation of his words that obviously makes so much less sense than his clarification. People misspeak, they clarify, we move on.

Oh brother. You are smarter than this, Fish. You really think it makes sense to hold AD to an interpretation of his words that nobody would see as a sensible statement when he immediately clarifies his meaning in a way that even those on the other side of the impeachment argument say, "Well yeah, I agree with that." If anyone made this sort of a misstatement and it had nothing to do with Trump you would accept the obvious clarification and move on.

Here's the thing, we're talking about a guy who made an argument in his book- "The Case Against Impeaching Trump" that if Russia were to attempt to retake Alaska in the same way they are currently trying to take Crimea (that is via invasion) and an American president simply sat by and allowed it allowed it to happen, that president could not be impeached for it.

Dershowitz is full of arguments that no sensible person should find reasonable.

You missed the point of my post.
I was saying that I see this ALL THE TIME from Trumpers. He and his people can do no wrong in the eyes of the trumper. Ever.

So, you're saying you're not smart enough to remember that some of us have complained about how Sanders gets treated?

I was not aware of this. If true, I agree with you that is not a reasonable argument. Do you have a link to the original text?

You missed the point of my post. I was saying that I see this ALL THE TIME from never Trumpers. They reinterpret everything in the worst possible light to feed their hatred. It doesn't even matter if a perfectly reasonable explanation is available (as there is in the case we were discussing).

And assuming that you believe I am a Trumper I will now blow your theory of Trumpers out of the water. Trump needs to log out of twitter because he comes off as an idiot on a regular basis. Trump needs to ratchet down the confrontation with Dems about a thousand percent because he is playing a huge role in creating the terrible political environment we face. Trump need to lighten up on the way he talks about the media because even though I can understand why he is so angry with them, he is not helping the situation. Trump does a lot wrong in my eyes.

Reinterpret? Nope. Simply listen to what the person says.
As to the second part of your post. That's good to hear. You should call him out on more often instead of only defending him.

Every time someone listens to someone they "interperet" what the other person is saying. Every time the media listens to someone they "reinterperet" it for their audience. Every time Trump or someone associated with Trump says something outlets like CNN, MSNBC, ABC, New York Times, Washington Post, etc. reinterperet the words in the worst possible light. They are obscenely biased in their reporting.

I have called Trump out for those sorts of things. I've even done it recently in this very thread (not just in the post that you are responding to).

What happened to respecting the anthem?

https://www.miamiherald.com/news/politics-government/article239913588.html

Donald Trump has repeatedly said all Americans should “stand proudly” during the national anthem, and publicly chastises those who don’t as disrespectful of the troops.

But during the national anthem at his own Super Bowl watch party Sunday night, a brief video posted to Instagram shows Trump greeting guests, adjusting his chair, and straightening his suit jacket as other attendees — including first lady Melania Trump and their teenage son — stand with their hands over their hearts. As “The Star Spangled Banner” crescendoes, Trump raises both of his hands in the air, and twirls them around as if conducting the music.
