What's new

This is my third blow up as a Jazz fan

What was the average age of the starting lineups those previous blow ups.

Pg
youth
Corbin vs sloan
pg
foul trouble
redefining an offensive system

The last one I think is important. No one is as yet %100 sure who is going to be the center of our offense. There will be a lot of hiccups until we figure out what we can expect from each guy every night on the offensive side of the court.

I know I listed pg twice because it is going to be a weakness that Jazz fans are not used to dealing with,

There was no PG in 2003 or 2011 either. Unless you count Harris and Arroyo as something significantly better than what we're working with now. Corbin was also the coach in 2011, so it's not like he's a complete moron, despite what you hear around here. He's already guided a team supposed to finish dead last to playoffs once. Centre of offense? Was that not the issue in 2011 and 2003, as well?

The bottom line is this. Like framer said, the Jazz have the advantage of something resembling a long-term plan. What the **** is the Kings plan? Get lottery picks and aimlessly amble through the season? They've been doing that for the past decade? The Jazz also have more talent on the roster than a good two-thirds of the league. You can win a lot of games, especially against poorly run and poorly coached teams, on talent alone. Add the crazy fans and the fact that ESA will probably sell out for a good chunk of home games, and I don't see how the Jazz could finish below the likes of Phoenix, Sacramento, Nawlins, Lakers, or even Dallas.

2003 imo was straight up one of the greatest coaching performances in NBA history. Something that you can't count on being repeated.

Sacramento isn't positioned well long term( I agree with you they never are) but I think Mcclemore will have a larger impact than Burke. I think our records will be similar.

I am a little surprised that you think we will have a better record than Dallas. They should be a .500 team.

For all y'all that are saying you're convinced we are gonna win all these games you should bet the over for total wins for the season. I think it's at like 28.

I think we win 30 games.

Perhaps not a top-3 pick, but please tell me how the JAzz are better than OKC, SAS, HOU, LAC, GSW, MEM.
I suppose, at best, you could argue the Jazz MIGHT contend for a 7/8 seed. I guess if you think the young guys are as good a starting unit as teams such as Minn, Portland and Denver. Then you have New Orleans and LA Lakers with all-stars and proven vets. Next just look at the benches. Portland had a very good starting group last season and won just 33 games.

heyhey makes some valid arguments. Jazz lost 4 of their top 5 scorers from last season. They return only 1 starter. I have no doubt this team will fall well south of .500.

There is not a snow ball's chance in he11 this franchise wins 35 games in the 2013-2014 season given the current ownership/management/coaches/roster.
