What's new

Thursday October 7th Portland (Insert caveman Joke no one gets but me) @ Jazz

Woah, that spin was pretty damn sweet. If he is trying to be a point guard now though he should just put that baby softly off the glass. Not a bad idea to learn some moves from that position, considering he is always in it during the games.

From my angle, it looked like it went behind. It was ugly whatever it was.

It for sure was ugly. I think he was going to shoot it and changed his mind way too late. I think it was actually supposed to go over for an oop because milsap was right there and pointed up to bell. Who knows.

On the last 2 plays being mentioned for what it's worth: On the radio Locke said during the play by play that the Bell play was supposed to be a pass (he was going to shoot but saw Milsap at the last second and decided to pass) and that he was laughing at himself, the Fess spin move he said he was going to lay it in and surprised how close he was decided to change his mind at the last second and tried to dunk it cause he was so close.... and well we all saw how that ended.

What did you see? The guys behind me even said "did that hit behind the back board?". Then again, they spent a lot of time booing Matthews, the douches.

I cheered for Matthews myself. As for the shot it looked like it hit the post that holds up the backboard to me. I can see how it might have hit the edge of the rim and bounced funny but that is not what I thought happened.

I talked to a few people that went to the game yesterday and they all said Fes was a complete joke.

Fes' block and then the finger wag that followed was prb the best thing of the night.

Other things that fes tried to do throughout the night were pretty comical though. Someone 7' + getting stuffed by the rim. ROFL.

Matthews looked great. Had that fire and seemed like he really wanted to make a statement last night. Wish we could trade Hayward for Matthews....

Hayward looked lost. Doesn't seem NBA ready. Ok ballhandling. Got stripped from behind while trying to lead the break. Pretty embarrassing.

Big Al needs to get a better concept of the offense. He seemed fatigued and lost. His spacing was poor and it seemed like the other Jazz players were still talking him through were they wanted him to be during certain parts of the offense.

Loved Earl Watson's fire that he brought last night. Contested a lot of shots at the rim. I like to see that out of someone competing for that backup pg spot. Reminded me of the fire Price usually has.

I think this team could be pretty good as they get to know each other and the Jazz system a little bit better. Looking forward to the season. :)

Moments before the annual "Let the Rookies Lead Us Out" trick.

How did Matthews do his first preseason game? Matthews is also almost 4 years older and making 3X what Hayward is. Did you expect him to look great his first preseason game? By all accounts he did just fine.

I didn't think that Hayward looked lost at all. He got lost chasing Fernandez a couple times, but then started going over the picks. I thought he showed good court sense. The things he didn't do well are easily corrected.
